If you have not purchased the National Parks Passport you should! It definitely makes traveling more fun! This was our first stop upon arriving in San Fran. The ranger was very knowledgeable. The museum is free and filled with lots of information. Stop on by and support the National Parks program!

This is a gem, now nearly fully renovated. It has amazing murals and tiling, great architecture and fabulous views. When work is complete, it will house more articles from the maritime museum.I had a fascinating conversation with a staff member called Ruth who explained the history of the creation of the building and all that has happened to it. It deserves to be admired.

Boat exhibits were very nice and the views from them were amazing! Workers were very nice and informative! A must see during visit to Fisherman's Warf.

This museum gives you a great insight into the history of San Francisco. It is free and run by volunteers. Plenty to do and see. From the huge light from a lighthouse, the gold rush to pictures of the original Indian people who lived in the Bay.

My only 'complaint' is there was no souvenir shop - it could bring some income for the museum.

Located on Jefferson (Fisherman's Wharf) the museum is in the century old Haslett Warehouse, which also contains the Argonaut Hotel and restaurant. The interior features exposed brick, Douglas Fir beams and so much seaside character. You can just walk in from the lobby of the hotel and it's free.
