We ventured into the Presido on our way to the Walt Disney Family Museum and got so much more out of our walk that we expected. The area is meticulously landscaped and preserved. If you are in the area, take a walk with your camera. There are a few historical plagues that help travelers understand more about the Presidio.

Spent a couple of hours walking through the Presidio, looking to locate the house where a friend lived in with his family when he was stationed there back in the late 50's. He gave us the address and we set off on foot without a map, which was deliberate because we wanted to explore the area, taking pictures as we went. It was a beautiful summers morning and about an hour into our walk we found the house and took photos of the house and surrounds for our friend. In all we spent perhaps 3 hours walking through the Persidio that day.

Yes, Disney has a new exhibit in the Presidio. This is now a beautiful park. Great hiking and super location for history buffs. National Cemetery, free hop on and hop off bus, Fort Point and much more. Beautiful scenery and even lodging options. A must visit when in San Francisco.

What an amazing place to take a walk and even stop for a picnic. it is a beautiful park with great views of the bay and golden gate bridge. To my understanding the park has had many changes and is now a great place for families, friends, and activities. It was less crowded then golden gate park and I think you can ride your bikes thru it as well.

The Presidio is one of the most amazing places in San Francisco. Walking, biking, driving - so much to see and everything is beautiful and new around each corner. History is everywhere here. A real photo-buff's dream. Pack a picnic and plan to spend a few hours - costs you nothing and it is a great way to spend a beautiful day in the city!
