“Urine and crackheads”
Reviewed 20 October 2011

this place is scarey to get in and out of. once you are in your room its not terrible. you need to use your room key to get into the elevator which on the ground floor is obviously used as a public urinal by the locals.

we booked an none smoking room, the reception agreed with that "unfortunately", there weren't any available. So I had to sleep two nights in a smoking room, wich was really disgusting. I asked 2 times at the reception if there really wasn't a non smoking room availeble but he sad there wasn't.
The hotel is located in a scary enviroment, there are a lot of homeless people hanging around and sleeping on the streets next to the hotel.
I would definitely not recommed this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: make sure you have a non smoking room if you book one

So sorry to hear of your recent experience at our inn. We offer both smoking and non-smoking rooms with various bedding configurations. At the time the reservation is booked, we can guarantee smoking or non configurations. The months of September and October are quite busy and we try our best to accommodate all requests, but for the most part we lack flexibility since we must honor guaranteed configurations first. We are located a block away from the main street in SF (Market). Being in a downtown location, we have all the pros and cons as any other big city.

The location is not the best, which is common in this city, but the property is in good condition; it's very clean and the staff is very flexible and great with directions.

It is a small older motel with very good managers. They are helpful and always polite. The rooms have some renovation but always clean. The location is good because it is close to Van Ness Ave. and you can easily get to bus or train. Free parking that is huge in San Francisco. The price is good for SF but don't expect a 4 star motel. If you are looking for a place to stay with friendly hosts, free parking, and a continental breakfast it is great. It also has a Burger King and Pizza Hut on the corner. Other reasonable restaurants nearby.

Room Tip: Actually it is mostly quiet as the rooms are isolated from the street

We purchased our accomdation via Wotif.com and should have seen the "self-rating" as a strong indicator to stay away. We had pre-paid two nights but only stayed one and cut our losses! I was travelling with my 10 year old daughter and we could not fit in the"lift" with our bags, the room was filthy, curtains half torn down and we were cold..and we apparantly had the "best" room.....I think the bed bugs had already discovered that.. We put all our bags up against the door as a precaution as we felt unsafe, yet had never been there before or heard anything about the place. DODGY as....

This place has got to bring their standards up. The room wasn't clean. The sheets were clean and the linens were clean but the carpets and bathroom floor was really dirty. The vintage furniture and decorations didn't bother us. But the ability to have your personal things stolen out of your car by some of the most unsavory people I've ever seen is ever present during your stay. It's not a good place to bring family or for women alone. The ability to use the elevator by anyone staying there is not good. I will explain later why.

The noise levels are horrendous. Partying, groups making noise galore all night long. A bed that was a virtual rock and stained mattresses. Doors slamming all night long. Sirens blaring all night long going down Mission even when people or traffic were not present; wouldn't flashing red lights suffice? They do here. It's sold as a continental breakfast that is free.. if you call hot coffee and a packed Sevenhardt's pastry a breakfast then you've got it.

Anyone can use the elevator if they chose to get up to your room if staying there. On the floor below a man began watching my spouse smoke outside our room he noted it but ignored it as I did too. One can smoke there so he would step outside of our room for my sake and smoke he did so first thing in the morning. My spouse noted a man looking up at him while he smoke from the floor below on the opposite side. Now mind you my spouse is very attractive, very kind appearing which he is deeply but there is no excuse for anyone approaching when they're not invited. This guy gets on the elevator with his card key comes to our room as my spouse says, good grief he is coming here and yes wants a tryst with my spouse. We are a straight couple and have gay friends so that didn't offend us but the easy access to the rooms was a bit bad. The card ridden elevator is not exactly a benefit for safety. My spouse explain in the only way he could that he apparently had the wrong room the man left immediately. But it's not exactly the place to bring kids or to feel safe it's a very unsavory atmosphere there. Your belongings can easily be stolen from your vehicle and you're told to take everything with you when you check in.
