Few buses, if you hop off , you won't be able to get on another bus soon. The Union Square to Golden Gate Park loop has big lines, we couldn't find a place to sit on the top, so we stayed downstairs and couldn't see a thing, until people got off on the park and we went up.
Nice tour guides.

I agree with the comments by other travelers. Overcrowded and not enough buses. We waited 45 minutes for us bus that was supposed to be there at ten a.m. Really long waits. One time we were waiting for a bus and the big bus company had 4 buses come and go. We did the golden gate tour. It was great but we did not get off at Sausalito because there was a long line of people that had been waiting for a bus for two and a half hours. Some of the people started yelling at us "get off the bus." Omg scary. We would not even take the five minute break to go to the bathroom. We bought the two day pass and did not use it on day two. Some of the tour guides were a little rude and some were nice. Low budget. No hop on and off really. Once you got on do not get off.. Wait time was poor and long. Sorry I spent over two hundred dollars for four of us. Check out Big Bus because it might be better. 4 to 1 bus ratio.

The tour buses, once you board them, are fun and informative. We especially enjoyed the night tour with Soda Pop Jones. I highly recommend staying on the bus once you board rather than the advertised "hop on, hop off." We spent almost half an hour waiting at the Ferry Building for a bus on the downtown line and then, once we got to Union Square, learned that we had to wait another 40 minutes for the green line (which only runs once every hour, not advertised anywhere). In all, over an hour of wasted waiting time we could have better used if we'd known the bus time tables, which are not readily available. The advertised walking tours are also not readily available (no information anywhere in the map or pamphlet). If you enjoy live tours, this is a good way to get introduced to the city, but don't do it if you want to take advantage of the hop on/hop off options to get around the city (MUNI buses are far more reliable and accessible).

We took the two day tour ticket (which is very good value) and saw most of SF. I agree with some of the comments on here about the guides (not funny or informative) but not Steve! By chance his was the last tour we took (Sausalito tour) and it was the best. Entertaining and interesting with a very natural manner when talking (and he can talk!), his knowledge of the area was superior to the other guides. And his chat was informal and natural. So make sure you get Steve when getting on the bus!

Andy....... the guy who knew about Tesla :-)

This company is near Fisherman's Wharf and they are the bright red double decker buses (except the one level bus that goes across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausilito). They honored a previously posted price in the Guide book for us which was very kind of them. However, their buses run less frequently than the Maroon/Brown and gold Big Bus company buses or the Grayline red double decker buses. So buyer beware. We waited longer for this tour bus company than the others that we saw arrive multiple times while we waited.
