The real beauty here for locals and tourists alike is the spectacular views all the way around of San Francisco, Marin Headlands and the Golden Gate, Pacific Ocean.
It's free to come here, park and walk all around, as many do, but parking gets tied up pretty early.
This is an historic site of the Spreckles Mansion, and even if you don't go into the museum itself, the building mimics the Louvre in Paris, and you can walk into the courtyard.
Good food in the Museum Cafe, by the way.
