Casa Loma Hotel

I was surprise with the size of the room, it was the size of a king bed. That was it. Just the bed, TV and small bathroom. The staff was friendly, and the place was clean. They had the best coffee machine in the whole world.

We spent three nights here. When we booked the hotel didn't have such good reviews but recently it has changed the management.
The breakfast is very simple but enough. Or you can pick from many options just a few blocka from the hotel. For vegetarians and vegans check out Herbivore on Divisadero.
Or buy some cheesesteaks for dinner at Metro just a few blocks down east from the hotel.
Muvi 22 stops right accrosse the hotel this will take you to Marina. Or take the one on Divisadero if you want to go to Castro.
The staff is great and the coffee machine too!!!
Shated bathrooms and restrooms are cleaned at least 3 timew a day. And yes the street rooms are noisy but this is an old building, a big city and nothing that earplugs won't fix.
The carpet in our room looked dirty and stained but you get a pair of slippers :-)
You can park for free around the hotel just make sure to read the street cleaning signs.

Hotel was easy to find, but parking was not. Everyone who say parking is easy is joking. Otherwise the neighbourhood is nice and the location is good. There is famous Alamo square and (painted ladies) just few minutes away walking. It's also a good spot to discover SF.
Room was just renovated and looked very nice. Public bathroom and toilet were very clean and maintained hourly. There is also complimentary breakfast and free coffee in the lobby.

This hotel was ideal for the 5 nights we stayed. In perfect walking distance of bus stops and the metro to get you anywhere in the city for $2!!

Rooms were clean and bed was comfortable. Room also had a TV, sink and fridge. We opted for the shared bathrooms which were always clean and always available. Showers were also nice and warm although sometimes not that powerful.

The only downside to this hotel was customer service.. There was none apart from one lady out of the 4 different members of staff we encountered.

On arriving on our first night after a 14 hour trip over from England they guy at the desk gave us our room key and told us the room number and that was that.. Although he did ask if we needed help with our bags he wasn't that enthusiastic so we declined. He also forgot to mention that our key allowed us back into the hotel, to help ourselves to free tea and coffee and that there would be a small choice of fruit and croissants for brekkie each morning.

Overall though, a decent place to put your head down after a long day exploring San Francisco!

We stayed at the Casa Loma for 5 nights and the hotel was ideal for this especially if you want a cheap place to stay. Great location with bus services and metro just a few minutes walk away - $2 to go anywhere in the city!! Room was perfect for the 2 of us with a sink, fridge and TV. Shared bathrooms were always clean and free. They also offer free coffee and hot drinks and fruit and croissants for brekkie.

The only downside to this hotel was that there was no customer service apart from one lady who seemed the most helpful out of them all.

We arrived just before midnight after a 14 hour trip from England, the guy gave us our key, told us the room number and that was that. He forgot to welcome us, tell us our key would get us in the front door, to help ourselves to free tea and coffee and that there would be a small breakfast selection each morning.

Overall a decent place to put your head down after a long day of exploring San Francisco!

Starting with the check-in process, the girl who took care of mine was so helpful and polite that deserves 5-stars. Next, I was surprised by how charming and comfortable was my room. There's even a sink inside the room. My room choice was for a shared bathroom which was perfect. The bathrooms and restrooms were always clean every time I needed to use and I never had to wait for someone to use before me. There's 2 of each one in every floor. The hotel also offers a simple breakfast with coffee, croissants and fruits. The neighborhood is just perfect for a walk. You are 2 blocks from Alamo Square and there's 2 bus routes in the corner of the hotel, so even if you want to go around in the city, you'll be fine. And if you're hungry, Divisadero St. is just a few blocks from the hotel and there's lots of options to have a decent meal. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms in the inner side of the hotel are probably more quiet.

We stayed in a room with a private bathroom which is on the corner of the building so you get the cool corner bay windows. Bed wasn't bad, better than a motel but not as good as say a Marriott. Bathroom was basic but very clean. Great location! Do be advised there is no elevator. Checking in was the only real giveaway that it was a hostel, but still not bad at all.
