“Beautiful vibrant neighborhood”
Reviewed 3 July 2014 via mobile

Really should be a stop in SF.

Many good restaurants
Good shopping
Wonderful neighborhood vibe that's a big part of what makes San Francisco what it is
The Castro Theater is a gem as well
Stupidly easy to access via mass transit

“Friendly”
Reviewed 17 June 2014 via mobile

My Husband and I stayed at The Inn on Castro for our stay in San Fran and found the Castro to be a great base, lots of friendly people and good places to eat. Great access to the city's transport as well. Full of interesting history on the Gay rights movement and the old theatre is beautiful. Worth a visit.

Good to drive through if you have the time, especially on your way to the twin peak, you can have a feel of the Castro district!

“great vibe; currently torn up”
Reviewed 26 May 2014

This is a fun area to visit and does not feel as touristy as you might expect (this might be why some have said there is nothing to do here). The vibe is great and indeed, there are diverse populations that traffic this area. However, be warned that there is a lot of construction right now so Castro street is pretty torn up which did not make for as good of pictures as you would want. I wished we would have spent more time here, personally.

Definitely stop by the GLBT history museum ($5).
