Found this hotel on Tripadvisor due to location/price. It was in the 'backyard' of Union Sq, but great location and nice Price. A Little old, but ok. Very good diner Mels on Mission street 801, just 5 minutes walk from hotel. Even i got the room at 3rd floor overlooking traffic at the corner of Mission and 5th street, it was ok quiet during night. Did not had time to test breakfast, as we went Down to FisherMans Warf

The hotel charged us the incorrect amount and was not willing to modify the bill. There were dirty bed sheets in the room. In the night there was a lot of noise in the room. The location was great, right next to everything you need.

Room Tip: Rooms are small and there is a lot of noise in the night.

Just around the corner from Market St. Clean, comfortable historic hotel but very tiny standard room. We were two with only 2 suitcases but barely had space for the bags closed & upright! Friendly & efficient service. Ok for 1 or 2 nites. Sights & shopping around the corner. Parking $40 for 24hrs.

We enjoyed the Pickwick for most of our stay. It's conveniently located by the Market St Shops and the hotel was in reasonable condition, recently refurbished by the look of it.

The front desk is friendly and helpful.

Value is pretty good relative to San Francisco hotel prices.

Only things for improvement would be (1) the wifi, which is pretty much non existent in rooms, and (2) noise insulation between rooms, which did create some considerable middle of the night sleep disturbance.

The hotel is in a great location right by market street where you can get cable car, street car and buses to all over the city so really convenient.
Originally we got the hotel and were given a queen room when we had booked a king. The lady at the front desk said no more kings available until tomorrow, so the next morning we packed up our stuff and were transferred to a king room - although the queen room was much nicer especially the bathroom - we should have stayed! Wifi is slow and intermittent and our bathroom in the king wasn't great but apart from that a great hotel to stay in. Staff very helpful about the local area. Would recommend it!
