“Asian $8 Subway!”
Reviewed 13 August 2011

So Bamboo has three sections: Indian, Japanese, Vietnamese. You pay $8 then pick your rice/salad/bread > pick your meat/fish > pick your vegetable > pick your sauce.

My office is cross the street so my colleagues and I went to this place since its first day. We were impressed with the restaurant. The food is pretty good, we tried all three sections (they offer brown rice too). The price is not bad at all for Financial District. The staffs are friendly, the decoration is simple.

I can't give the restaurant 5 stars because:
1. The seats are very limited.
2. The raw fish is not very fresh.

“Great inexpensive Japanese, Indian or Vietnamese fresh fast food”
Reviewed 15 July 2011

This is such a nice change of pace from all the sandwich places around this neighborhood. We got mains from the Japanese station and the Vietnamese station and an appetizer from the Indian station.

From the Japanese station we got a rice bowl with tuna, hamachi and shrimp with green onions, asparagus and salmon roe. All of this was topped with Dynamite sauce, which wasn't overly spicy but gave everything a little kick, I didn't even need to bother with soy sauce or wasabi. The bowl was a generous portion of food and was very tasty.

From the Vietnamese station we got a rice bowl as well, which couldn't have been more different from the Japanese bowl. The only thing they had in common was they were both delicious!!! We had brown rice with a variety of veggies, bbq chicken and a nice big dollop of peanut sauce. One word: YUM!!!

At the Indian station we had a spiced potato samosa, with mint chutney dipping sauce which was also delicious and super filling. The chutney had a LOT of flavor and spice, not for those who don't enjoy spicy sauces, but I loved it.

The food of course is the most important thing, but as an added bonus, the employees and owner were very friendly as well. All of this at around 8 bucks per main dish seems like a very good deal for the financial district.
