“Small room but okay location”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

Its a nice hotel with friendly hotel lobby staff. The room was small, especially when you have a baby who wants to roam around. The general feel for this hotel is "old" but its okay nonetheless. Breakfast selection was very limited and one waitress was a bit rude, asking us to "let her know when we use the table" but we were already ushered in by another waiter to that specific table in the first place! I liked that they had carafes in the room and drinking water readily available. Location was also great, since there was a bus stop just right infront of the hotel, it made the commute pretty easy!

We found this hotel through Trip Advisor. We never would have thought of it otherwise. It is located only two blocks from Union Square. For a nice hotel it is reasonably priced. The room was comfortable and nicely appointed. A very good breakfast is included. There are a great number of reminders this a Marine hotel. However, it generally is a normal hotel. When we return to SF we will again choose this hotel.

The location is wonderful Sutter and Mason ~ close to all public transportation. Although the lobby is a bit dated, it holds a certain charm and reverence. Each floor is dedicated to a person, event, or group. Such rich history ~~ you could spend hours in this living military memorial looking at the walls and cabinets. Really feel that you are on hallowed ground. The daily great breakfast buffet, daily happy hour, fantastic view added to the 12th floor fun. But it doesn't stop there~ Jerome Clay plays a great Piano! Grey, and Jeff wonderful bartenders. The ENTIRE Bell Staff, (Matt) particularly were awesome. We met the General Manager Michael Allen in the hotel he gave us a plethora of information. He was obviously proud of his hotel and his city. Lastly, our week at the Marines Memorial flew by and we can't wait to return again!

Definitely a place to see if you are tied to the Marine Corp. A great place to stay as a member. Amazing rooms and service! The memorials and library throughout the hotel are well done and the bulldogs roaming some of the floors is a cool touch.

I was recently at the club for a Memorial Day event, but the club itself has more to offer - the rooftop. Very old fashioned and a beautiful view and wonderful piano music. Expect to see the way older generation here adding to the charm

Good location, although parking is expensive $30 a night even when you are a member . Great breakfast included & happy hour! Rooms are average size , bathroom kinda small, just a shower. But for $99 you definitely can't complain for a city hotel !

The Marines’ Memorial Club is in a great Union Square location – right on the corner of Sutter & Mason. This place is a living museum with military souvenirs, displays, memorials, and other items on every floor. There is much to interest anyone.

Our room was inexpensive and nicely appointed with a TV, safe, desk, coffee maker, and small refrigerator. The bathroom was big and had plenty of fine supplies. The shower’s water pressure was okay, although not great. There is both an ice and filtered water dispenser on every floor. This club has been around since 1946, but it looks and feels up-to-date (with the exception of not having enough conveniently placed outlets in the room for recharging our numerous electronic devices).

Their breakfast buffet is served in the top (12th) floor restaurant that has a view (when it’s not fog-bound!) of downtown San Francisco. Breakfast is very good, and consists of hot trays of fresh scrambled eggs, a breakfast meat, potatoes, and other items that vary each day (such as eggs with spinach, eggs with salsa, blintzes). Other hot items are oatmeal, and what is labeled “SOS”: biscuits & gravy. There are plenty of other items: breads, cereals, fruit, yogurt, and cottage cheese. The staff is friendly and will serve you juice (coffee is already on the table).

I whole-heartedly recommend it!
