“5-day vacation in S.F.”

I had a very pleasant stay at the Club Quarters. The front desk staff was friendly, receptive and very accommodating. Check In & Check Out was extremely efficient and easy. I have never checked in and out of a hotel so fast. The front desk staff gave me great information regarding tours and locations of restaurants (including directions to Chinatown and Italian restaurants).

My first night at the hotel, I was in a room that faced what I would call an alley. As a result, there was a lot of noise coming from the alley. The next morning, I asked to be moved to another room, which was done immediately. Liz at the front desk gave me another room (that was actually larger than the first room) without any questions. She totally understood my concerns. I simply stated that I am a light sleeper, and therefore could not spend four more nights in that particular room. She transferred me to another room quickly and professionally. After moving to another room, I did not have any problems and slept well. The water pressure was great & the lighting in the bathroom was also very good.

The hotel provides free bottled water, coffee, tea, fresh fruit and granola/fruit bars. It's about 4 blocks to the BART station and close to drug stores, banks and restaurants. However, on Sunday, it was difficult to find places to eat breakfast & lunch because most of the cafes are closed because it is in the Financial District. Also, if you enjoy Chinese food, Chinatown was about a 10/15 minute walk. Even Market Street (one of the main streets in S.F.) was only about 5 blocks. It's a great location if you need to visit the Financial District. There is also a FREE onsite washer & dryer. It is an older facility, but it has been well maintained. The service & amenities compensate for what the hotel lacks in the way of "newness". I would definitely stay at the Club Quarters again.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper, ask for an interior room; do not get a room facing the alley because the...

Wonderful hotel that goes above your expectations! The rooms are a tad small but if sleeping there is your sole purpose then there's no problem. Conveniently located in the financial district and within walking distance of Chinatown. Parking in the Embarcadero parking garage will cost you $42.00 with in and out privileges. Street parking (if lucky enough to find one) is free on Sundays.

Overall, I was quite satisfied with my one-night stay at Club Quarters. When we visited SF on a vacation last month, my companion and I stayed in a standard room on the ninth floor. Our room -- which was equipped with a bed with a plush mattress, flat screen TV, two night tables, and large desk -- was very clean, modern, spacious, and quiet. We found that the hotel provided numerous amenities and services (e.g., complimentary distilled water, a nice lounge with several computer terminals and printer, a fast Wi-Fi connection). The room seemed to be suitable for business travelers and tourists alike. We found that checking-in and checking-out was fairly quick because of the touch screen terminals in the lobby.

The hotel is located right in the middle of the financial district, so there was a significant amount of traffic and lots of people walking around during the day. Things died down a bit after 7pm. Although the hotel was not directly located in the middle of all the action, we found the neighbourhood to be safe and everything was accessible either by foot or public transit. Both the Embarcadero area and Market Street, which had some nice restaurants and shops, were about a 10-minute walk away. There were also a number of smaller eating places closer to the hotel.

In terms of public transit, you could take the streetcar on Embarcadero Street straight to Fisherman’s Wharf. You could also take the city buses that run along all of the streets surrounding the hotel. You could also take the BART, which is about a 10-minute walk away on Market Street. If you have a car, the closest parking garage is at One Embarcadero Center about a block away ($33/night - a bargain compared to areas such as Union Square that charge $50+/night). However, I would caution others about driving in the financial district during rush hour (i.e., between 3:30 and 6:30pm during the week). All of the streets are in gridlock mode during that time. If you stay at this hotel, I would highly recommend taking the Muni.

As a tourist, I would personally prefer to stay in Union Square (which is a more touristy hub), but the financial district is not bad since parking can be cheaper and some of the hotels in the area might offer better deals.

You cant beat this location - central to everything and a short drive to most attractions. We travelled during the easter weekend and were able to find some street parking near the hotel at night. Its a business district so street parking can be tough to find on weekdays but there are some parking structures in the area if you're wlling to spend.
The rooms are average and seem a bit dated and we had very noisy neighbors and we could hear them partying through the night.
Here's the deal - centrally located hotels in SF can get really expensive so if you want to stick within the $150 a night budget and want to stay near to everything in a clean hotel where you dont intend to spend much time other than sleeping, the Club Quarters are a decent option.
The check-in, check-out process is fast and easy.

As a last ditch effort to get a cheaper room in San Francisco, I resorted to naming my price on Priceline and what a great win for us. This hotel is in a great location. It was 4 blocks away from the Embarcadero Transit station where you can catch the BART, light rail lines, F-street car and busses. The California Cable Car is two blocks away and the Big Bus Tours picks up across the street. The location is a great hub for getting around the city. Even though it is well connected there really wasn’t any traffic noise. And the rooms must be well soundproof because we couldn’t hear our neighbors except when they shut their door. The rooms are small but that is common in big cities so no big deal. The room was well laid out with a chair and work desk. Bathroom was a bit small but nothing that isn’t manageable. The bed was comfy and the sheets were very nice. The windows can be opened which is great for getting some fresh air. I loved the filtered water on all floors but it could have been colder. There is only one ice machine in the basement so that was inconvenient. The staff was friendly and answered all our questions. However, I would not suggest using their airport shuttle service. We did not have a good experience with them!

I just checked into this hotel for the first time and am very happy with my room. I booked a suite but was able to upgrade to a suite with a balcony for $40. This is great because the room is definitely worth it. Sarbi at the front desk helped me with the upgrade and also with my reservation because I had two rooms booked by mistake. She cancelled the second room without any charge. The staff here is accommodating and genuinely want to help make your stay comfortable. My room is spacious, has a mini kitchen, and a balcony that gives a great view of the city. The hotel lobby also provides complimentary snacks, sodas, and coffee. I am definitely enjoying my stay!

Room Tip: If you would like a lager room ask the front desk if they have suites with a balcony that you can up...

The hotel website says: "iPads for loan for registered guests". Well, this is a joke. The first day, upon my arrival, they told me at the front desk that they didn't have any available. Second day they took my phone number and said: "We will call you as soon as anyone returns an iPad". The third day I was told: "Well, we don't have chargers for the iPads..." When I complained about the hotel not solving the issue or stops offering a service they don't have, the infantile response from the clerk was: "If guests would have return them [the iPad chargers], we wouldn't have this issue". Come on Club Quarters! At the end of the day you are not charging pennies for your rooms. Very disappointing.

Room Tip: Bring your tablet, laptop. Do not rely on the services they offer (iPad for loan)
