I was suposed to stay here for a week, but I only could stay for 1 night, in which I could barely sleep. The reception is behind a sort of bullet proof desk, which says a lot of how safe can you feel while staying there. There's a lot of noise in the neighborhood, and while waiting a cab outside the hotel door (no one helps you) i was asked for USD 100 from 2 drugaddicts just so they left me alone.
My trip to San Francisco started awfully just because staying in this hotel. Maybe if you know well the city it's not so terrible, but for beginners just forget it!
TV... it's a joke!

What is good about the hotel? Really only 2 things come to mind:
1) The price
2) Extremely close to the UN/ Civic Plaza BART station on Market

The Bad:
1) The hotel is not kept up, it is extremely ran down
2) Even though that there was a WiFi access point right outside room 327 (this was the room that we stayed in) it was impossible to get connected to the Internet
3) The Bed sheets had hair and blood stains on them - in fact the replacement sheets they also supplied we're in this condition so my guess is that they do not wash the sheets between guest stays - only solution to this was to go down to the City Target store and buy a new set of sheets and pillow covers
4) The sink was in the the main part if the room and was in very sad shape
5) Carpet was extremely stained
6) Everything was covered with dust
7) even though maid service was requested they never came
8) Smell of smoke was strong even though a nonsmoking room was requested
9) No sprinkler systems in the room
10) Smoke detector did not work when tested
11) Stairwell was poorly lit at night
12) Staff was extremely unhelpful
13) It is next door to a peep show
14) Elevator was in poor shape and had dirty carpet on the walls

Is it a good value. NO, you are better served by joining airbnb.com as you will have dozens of choices around the same price that are awesome compared to this. People are afraid of the tenderloin but I don't see an issue you have a lot if crazy homeless people in a lot of San Francisco and could be a great area due too location with the right level of investment. For now though it is best to avoid staying in the Tenderloin. As for the Aida Hotel, it should be torn down as it is a safety hazard. Anyone that writes a good review for this place is insane. Why did I stay here, it was a last minute booking and thought that based on several good reviews that I would give it the benefit if a doubt, don't waste your time or money.

Room Tip: None if the room are good but definitely do not choose one with a shared bathroom.

Pros:
- bed sheets seemed cleaned
- donuts at breakfast are good
- front desk staff helpful
- nice music in the elevator and lobby

Cons:
- bugs (roaches) in the room
- rooms could use a good cleaning
- first impression is the right one - this hotel is dirty overall
- scary people hanging around at the hotel door - doesn't provide a safe environment outside at all
- wifi only works at the lobby

This hotel is very dirty. We checked in. No parking. Had to block 3 blocks down. The room was filty dirty. The sheets washed. We spot hair all over the sheets n pillow case. Had to go tell maid to change sheets. New sheets were still dirty. Thank goodness i bought my own comforter. Laid on my comforter as my bedsheet n used a clean white towel to covet me to sleep. Spotted bugs crawling on the dresser. Room smells like old carpet smoking odor!!! Shared restroom
N shower down the hallway. It was dirty. Location of hotel- lots of bums n druggies. Scary to go out at night.

only if you are in a really low budget or have absolutely no money. The shower space in bathroom is so small that you need to be outside it to wash your feet. The area is quite scary even during the day. Breakfast is hilarious. Luckily there is a Starbucks nearby.

My hotel choice turned out to be a wrong pick. Cheap hotel (Aida hotel, 50euro a night, still overpriced for this low standard) with slow free wifi, cheap complimentary donut breakfast, but include a smelly room (r310), shared (on corridor) toilet and shower, very old fashioned deco and furniture (has definitely seen better times), TV with very limited programs and without remote control, no fridge, no safe box. The best is actually the location, just next to exit civic centre Muni station. Would definitely not choose again and better you also dont. Spend a bit more money to get a good sleep guarantee!
