Very old hotel next to the civic center and union square. Everything looks clean but really very old fashioned. Breakfast ony coffee and donuts. Wifi only works at the lobby. Ok for a few days trip. Next to BART, and MUNI facilities.

San Francisco is an expensive place to stay. Finding a hotel was for us a nightmare as we had a tight budget. Aida Hotel was our choixe as it was the cheapest compare to the rest. Service was very friendly, wtih an old fashioned way of working, but it works. The rooms were exactly like on the pictures, so no bad surprises. It's an old hotel but still clean. They booked also for us a shuttle for the airport and gave us some advices for finding some good places. It's not in the best part of market street, but at night we didn't feel scared to get out. You can go everywhere by tram, bus or with the BART. it's very convenient.

Room Tip: A room at the back and at the last floor is quiet. (for SF)

This hotel has had its best years. Everything is old and specially the lobby is dirty. The rooms are old.
It is on Market Street but not in a freindly area. Parking is possibly in the area but again not a freindly area.
The forgot our resevation but the old man working there gave us a great deal så that is on the plus side. But when you arrived late, and have told them that when you made the resevation, it is not great to find out that they dont have your private room.
I send 2 mails to the hotel before i arrived and they didten respont any of them.

This hotel is far from a good. To begin with the area is rough, to say the least. The hotel itself is unclean. Our bed sheets were not changed for an entire week, neither was the floor vacuumed. Trash under beds from earlier guests.
On top of this someone in the staff stole childrens' books (unused, in the rapping) from our room. It was not much value but very unpleasant.
The positive parts were that the location (close to city center) is ok, and that tha reception staff was nice.

As everything within a reasonable price range (for SF) was booked because of the World Cup, we ended up at the Aida because it was on Market Street (easy transportation) and had 2 doubles with bathroom available. Surprisingly, it was pleasant enough if you're OK with hostels. This is a historic building (high ceilings, original fixtures in lobby, moldings etc.) with minimal upgrades which involved new paint (inches thick), new carpets, beds, pictures. Bed was good, bathroom, sheets and towels were clean. Lobby was friendly with mostly European travelers. Street was noisy (if that is an issue for light sleepers). Location is great for bus, trolley and metro stations; a couple of blocks from union square and court house. Location has some homeless on semi-permanent basis. Yes I would use it again (was sooooo much better than the B&B I had tried previous year).

Room Tip: Ratings are based on a comparison to hostels rather than hotels.
