This international hostel was fantastic! I have stayed at four hostels before and this was hands down my favorite. The free coffee and hot water for tea 24/7 was fantastic. Rooms were well kept with a clean bathroom. Also, the hostel had it's own vibe that made you want to hang out with the staff. Lot's of events at the hostel. Also, great pancakes and eggs for $1.

All the staff I came across at the hostel were friendly, knowledgeable and had loads of great info on different things to do/see in the City. The neighborhood isn't the best, but the hostel itself is in great shape and there are totally decent restaurants around (check out Brenda's French-Cajun for breakfast and Lahore Karachi, also called "Shalimar Restaurant"), and cool places/neighborhoods to check out: Hayes Valley (less than 15 minutes); SFMOMA (about 15 minutes); BART is less than 10 minutes; Union Square (about 9 or 10 minutes); the Castro (about 15-20); and the Mission (2 or 3 BART stops down).

The kitchen is also big and clean, there are good lounge couches to laze around in if you need some down time, and there are a decent amount of computer kiosks for internet. At the end of a big walking day in the City, tea and coffee await you at the entrance and the beds are wicked comfortable--perfect way to the end the evening. Thanks, all!

This was a great hostel in the middle of a not so great neighborhood. Great room, good bed, very helpful staff. Walking distance to everything. There is also a super good creole restaurant a couple of blocks away.

The hostel itself is great, nice and clean and more than adequate facilities.
The location while being quite central to the attractions (is about 5 blocks from the shops and cable cars) is in a very dodgy neighbourhood, it is a very intimidating walk at anytime of day, night time is just plain scary.
I would definitely return with other people, travelling solo is sketchy as.

the hostel acomodatios are great !.
The room is very nice with private bathroom which i loved!
Not very common for a hostel!!!
The hostel style is pretty classic from SF, that is pretty cool too.

The stuff is dirty not clean at all to be in a front desk
is a very hippy place,

The internet was awful and the computer are really bad IMO.

THE MOST IMPORTANT.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD IS HORRIBLE, TERRIBLE!!.
FULL OF DRUGS HOMELESS AND ANY OTHER KIND OF SCARY PEOPLE.

Im a woman i cant enjoy my stay in SF for stay in this neighborhood,
please stay in DOWNTOWN or WATER FRONT!!.

beso!!

Hostel is one of the better ones I've stayed at.
I stayed in a standart private room with ensuite bathroom.
Room was clean, and a pretty good standard compared to other hostels i've stayed at.
Bathroom was rather small though.
Staff was very friendly and it seemed like a very good and secure hostel.
Good value for money.
SF is pretty expensive when it comes to accom, hence the reason why we ended up at a hostel.
The area however is pretty scary. I would def. not walk there by my self.
