We recently visited San Francisco and spent a full morning at the Golden Gate Park, which we really enjoyed. Similar to Central Park in NYC, the Park just seems to go on forever at times, affording locals and visitors plenty of opportunity for green space, recreation as well as a collection of attractions to museum and garden-like attractions.
We enjoyed the San Francisco Botanical Gardens, the Japanese Tea Garden and taking the lift up the Hamon Tower of the de Young Museum for sweeping views of this area of San Francisco. We also really enjoyed the Conservatory of Flowers, especially the Dahlia Garden, which was in full bloom during our visit last month.
While we have been to San Francisco a handful of times, this was our first actual visit to Golden Gate Park. We should have visited during earlier trips as this is a very nice area to spend time. Also, we failed to see some attractions and area of the Park simply due to our running out of time. Next trip, we’ll probably allocate ¾ of a day at least to the Golden Gate Park.
