We were looking for dinner in union square and read the reviews for King of Thai and werent disappointed. The line moved quickly and we enjoyed tasty thai food. It came to $35 including tips for 3 meals. I would defibitely go back.

We went for the soup, but loved the Pad Thai. The service was excellent, however, there was a slight language barrier. At first we thought we would have to wait forever to get a table because it was so packed. However, there is an upstairs dining area so we only waited about 10 minutes to be seated. The decor is interesting with bright purple walls. (It surely makes a statement!)

We ordered the beef noodle bowl with extra beef, pad thai, and a thai iced tea. The Pad Thai and Thai Iced Tea were excellent. The soup was decent. I would like to go back and try the red curry that everyone raves about. Overall, I would give it a thumbs up.

The place was a bit small and cozy but we came early to avoid the dinner rush. The salon was painted in pink and purple, so reminiscent of the colors associated with Thai silk. They served authentic Thai food, which was served piping hot and the soups were flavorful. Spicy entrees were enough to clear your sinuses but there were non-spicy options for those with a tongue & tummy which could not tolerate the heat, like me. Food was generally good and enough to share, if one was so inclined. Well worth the trip, especially since we had to literally look for it as we drove down the road due to its relatively small frontage. Would certainly love to eat there again the next time I visit San Francisco :-)
