This restaurant is a standout among the many fine places that define the San Francisco dining scene. It's delight to walk down the alley gangway bordered by a small flower shop and gallery before entering.
We were seated outside which is cozy and romantic amongst the twinkling lights.
The service was attentive and the sommelier an expert guide through the extensive wine list.
In our party we had the Halibut, Picci Bolognese, Game hen and Wagya Steak which is pretty indicative of the choices on the menu. All were very ,very good. The standout deserts are not to be missed with a shoutout to the Chocolate Oblivion Cake ( very dense!) and the Seven Layer Ice Cream Cake.
Since there are so many quality restaurants in SF it's always a delight to discover a gem you can call your own from the very first time.

Went with friends. On the expensive side but very good service, delicious salad to start and very good fresh pasta, with a decent red wine. We shared desserts. Two for four people is plenty...they’re very rich. Main dining room is a bit of a crush even during the week. Next time I’d like to try the side dining room which looks out over the courtyard...I think it’s prettier...or if it’s warm enough, eat outside.

Note to management: on Open table we were first told you were fully booked. Tried later and got a table for 6:30...but there were several empty tables when we left.

The tables are very close together and it is really noisy, so not good for a conversation. Deep Fried olives are too salty. Good veggie options but mostly meat entrees. Pico bolognaise very flavorful (order a half portion and add a side veg). brussels and baby kale was great but crumbly and difficult to eat.

Meatloaf! Isn’t that enough? Wait, there’s more. Meatloaf with spicy BBQ sauce, mashed cauliflower “risotto” and sautéed spinach. It’s a special, so don’t expect it every night.
Speaking of specials: white bean crostino with arugula salad.
If you happen to land on a night when both are being served, count your blessings and enjoy.

Our friends recommend we try out Sociale. I am very picky with my food & Sociale didn’t disappoint. We started with the homemade meatballs which I would normally never try & they were absolutly homemade fantastic covered in delicious gravy. I had the amazing short ribs over risotto, yum! My son scarfed down the linguini and clams. Don’t miss this restaurant. ;)
