Description: Zazie is a small neighborhood bistro in a historic building in Cole Valley, near the upper Haight and UCSF with a gorgeous well heated garden patio. We are famous for our American style brunch, served seven days/ week, but dinner is the hidden gem- country French cooking at it's best served with warmth.

We decided to visit the restaurant because of the excellent rating, and were not disappointed. We arrived with a very large party and hungry children. They were able to seat us in 15 minutes and, while we waited, provided us a nice large bowl of fruit for the children (and parents !).

When we were seated in the outside patio, we were greeted by a smiling server who immediately brought us water and drinks. He took our order and the food arrived quickly.

There were many options for vegetarians, however, not as much for vegans. The food was spiced well. My favorite dish was the potatoes with large cloves of garlic. YUMMY!

This place is excellent, service, food and support. I would highly recommend a stop to eat here.

Its not a big place but they have inside and patio dining - maybe a wait on weekends. It is one of those places that local treasure and doesn't get much publicity. The food and service are terrific with great variety in a comfortable setting.

Bit out of the way if you are staying centrally, but really worth a taxi! We went prior to close by Golden Gate Park. Amazing choice & everything tasted as good as it read. Great value, and superb service. This menu is extensive & more importantly interesting (ie not what you could do at home) & everything we ordered was good or great. Such friendly helpful staff too. Would definitely go out of the way to get there again.

We were lucky I guess. Walked right in and were seated at a table in the front window. No wait. The food and service was outstanding and the coffee exceptional. The atmosphere was upbeat and energizing. My Croque Monsieur (grilled ham and gruyere) was outstanding. The Buttermilk pancakes and Challah French Toast with orange-cinnamon batter ordered by my wife and a childhood friend could not have been better. A truly delightful brunch enjoyed by all.

This was recommended on a few sites for a great brunch. And it was the best brunch I've had. Ever.

There are no reservations. You turn up and add your name to the list. Don't be disheartened if your at the bottom of the page. We were the same but it was only a 35 minute wait. And it is worth it.

The waiter recommended the special latte - pumpkin spiced latte with real pumpkin pieces. It is Halloween month after all. We ordered the challah french toast made with orange cinnamon batter and eggs Benedict on a muffin with spinach and mushrooms. It's the French toast that was an absolute winner. All other French toast kneels before Zazie French toast.

The service from the staff was friendly and faultless. Even a handshake at the end! Total bill was about $44 with tip. It might seem a lot but how often are you going to have proper brunch in San Francisco.
