“Wonderful!”

We were just walking along when we saw the sign for Scoma's and decided that we were hungry. I'm so glad we went in! The seafood was really fresh, as they have their own fishing boats. We ended up by eating there twice in the week we were in SF. Both times the wait staff was helpful and attentive and the food was delicious. Definitely a place to eat at while in San Francisco!

“Still great after all these years.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

Ate at Scoma's in early July. Had been 20-25 years since our last visit. Fisherman's Wharf has changed a lot during those years...but Scoma's hasn't. Still top notch food and service! We were hungry early, so we sat at the bar and ordered off their happy hour bar menu. (They serve it from 4:30 to 6:00.) You can get some of their fantastic food at happy hour prices, although drinks are full-priced. We had clam chowder served in bread bowls, jumbo shrimp, crab cakes and oysters, and all were great! Had a chance to meet the owner and chat at length with the bartender. Had some great laughs to go along with the great food. We'll be back on our next visit!

“Fantastic!”

Great first meal in San Francisco!
Very good seafood and amazing service. Our waiter was friendly and did a great job on going over the menu. I can't remember the name of my dish but it was basically a seafood stew in a tomato based broth. Best I've ever had!

“Local Tourist Stop”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

Oh, Scoma's. It's close to the Wharf, it's on a pier (which can be a thrilling experience in itself for a tourist), it has some views of the sunset and city. Food is pretty good, but I wasn't blown away. Lots of butter being used where it doesn't really have a place!

Beware, the prices do not reflect the level of service diners should be receiving - even for San Francisco.

“Amazing food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

We went for an early dinner as we had missed lunch. We were welcomed into the restaurant and seated by a window. Water appeared as soon as we sat down as did the menu. Our waiter talked us through some of the specials of the day - which all sounded delicious. We shared a crab cocktail as a starter. My husband had scallops in a saffron sauce with mashed potatoes and spinach - it was to die for, made my seafood mixed grill seem mediocre, which it wasn't! We had desserts, a key lime pannacotta and jack daniels bread and butter pudding - wow! This was not a cheap meal but the quality of the food and the service made it worth the money.
