It was like stumbling on a 'find' in the Caribbean - but African. We love Eritrean/Ethiopian food, but this type of African cuisine is not very common on the West Coast. The food was well-prepared, well-presented and reasonably priced. Their cocktails are also pretty darn good!
Spouse and I both thought the food had a refined restraint - just a bit of heat (not very spicy) and perfectly salted. We find that some restaurants are on the extreme (where's the seasoning? or OMG, way too salty!). The turnovers were a bit skimpy in the filling but the dough was perfectly cooked and yeasty. The chicken was cooked thoroughly, but still very moist.
We'll be back.
