“Sailing delicious sushi - fun for families!”
Reviewed 24 September 2013

We asked some japanese looking locals outside The Japan Center what the best sushi restaurant was. They recommended Isobune Sushi. There are many choises in Japan Center but we were so happy with this choise. Our daughter loved the boats with sushi sailing by. If you don't like what is on he boats you just order anything you like from the picture menu. They serve anything you like very fast. As you sit and watch the boats you can also see the chefs preparing sushi. Lots of fun, lots of things to watch, great quality sushi in a small and cosy restaurant. Prices were very reasonable. Each plate has a color and the color determines the price.

We will be back for more sushi the next time we visit S.F.

“Best sushi ever”
Reviewed 30 August 2013

This place took me away to Japan in an instant. The room full of people, The cooks busy preparing the most delicate pieces of sushi I've ever seen. The running water carrying small boats loaded with plates of a stunning variety of sushi. This is the best!

“Rotary sushi!!”
Reviewed 17 July 2013

For those that would like to try excellent sushi this is a great place to start.. It is located in japan town.. Its main attraction is that you sit around a bar with the sushi chef in the middle and the food goes around in mini boats! They are freshly made and come in different plate colors (color coded for the price). It has a helpful guide menu on what might be in the sushi but there it is always more fun discovering things every yummy mouthful! We always visit this place whenever we go to San Francisco!

“Good enough”
Reviewed 3 July 2013

The variety was just ok -- expected more from reading the reviews -- thought the chefs were making the items based on schedule and not according to the items flying our of the trays

“Fun and good!”
Reviewed 19 June 2013 via mobile

The sushis are good!

Sometimes, you have to wait a little while they prepare new kinds of sushis to put on the water "belt".
Most of all it's a fun experience to see the sushis moving around on boats.

It is a small place, not made for groups... And it is hard to speak with the people in a group since you are on a line facing the sushis.
