“Dungeness Crab”
Reviewed 11 March 2013

Nonna Rose is in a good location; at Fisherman's Wharf. The setting is beautiful and I'm sure the food is delicious overall. I had the Dungeness crab, wharf style as the server recommended. If you LOVE seafood, this is probably a great place.

“Great Crab & Chowder”
Reviewed 2 November 2012 via mobile

Just arrived in SFO. Checked in to hotel in downtown. Now what to do for the afternoon. If not in a hurry, take the famous cable car to Fisherman's Wharf. $6.00. Worth the fee.
You can easily spend a couple of days exploring this location, but to the task at hand. Eat!
A row of obviously popular eatery's beckon , we picked one.
Nonna Rose Trattoria , signs say it has been here a long long time, so perhaps this = Good!
Manager at the door, welcomes & seats us, some tables have limited harbor view.
Water arrives immediately! Server offers suggestions/explains menu options.
We settle for the Wharf Crab with fish chowder as a choice of starter over the salad . Good choice. I would come back just for the chowder any time.good, Great, excellent all describe it. Generous sour dough bread for nipping & dipping as you please.
The Crab: we split one, as we were satisfying our need to taste more than hunger. It was plenty to share.
Crab was great, bib, tools & weapons provided to do battle , butter for dipping, Lemon to drizzle to taste.
A full bar offers, wine, other drinks and a selection of bottle & draft beers.
Blue Moon in draft was our choice.
All in all. A rating of 4. Nothing wrong at all, just not a 5. Not that kind of place, but definitely worth a second trip!

“this review is for the sidewalk service.........”
Reviewed 14 August 2012

Calamari were gross and greasy, chowder was thick as glue, and the service was rude. Worst of all no one seemed to be bussing the sidewalk counter where you stand and eat. Really disgusting. Way overpriced as well.

“To be avoided”
Reviewed 7 June 2011

The food was not too bad. Nothing to write home about, but the service was awful.
Our waiter did what he could but they were understaffed and some of the waiters were sulking.
Don't waste your cash.
