So close to getting off of the BART. Two extremely comfortable beds, my daughter and I enjoyed having our own. Had read the reviews and was worried about safety and noise. Front door had a key at night time. Front desk was very nice and super helpful. We had a room facing the street and kept the window open. For downtown, it was not bad at all. Would definitely book here again. We had a great stay. Two blocks from Chinatown, block from Starbucks, Walgreens every couple of streets and Market street was 3 blocks away, many bus routes ran on this. Loved it!!!

Room Tip: Is worth it to have your own bathroom. Found that there was a kitchen down the hall. A stove, microw...

The Park is a very clean old hotel, with few amenities. Depending on the room, it's relatively quiet in the winter, but if you need to keep the windows open, it can be noisy. Bathrooms are good, but need more towel racks, and there should be an outlet at the lavatory so one can dry hair or shave easily. The bed is comfortable, but the rooms can be cramped. I must say that the management is very understanding, and all the folks that we dealt with were very polite, and hospitable.

Room Tip: Get an upstairs room on the south end.

Location is great - Union SQ is around the block and close to bus and BART. Place was clean. But - had no charm - painted over it. Industrial grade carpet throughout. Front desk staff was friendly. Wi-Fi works so-so, depends where you are in your room. Just don't expect much and you won't be disappointed. No hard wire Internet connection.

Room Tip: Rooms facing Sutter may be noisy with street traffic, but may have best ventilation - tradeoff.

I've stayed at Park Hotel for a couple of months while visiting UC facilities. The hotel is quite straightforward in the sense that you should not expect more than the basics. But the basics are really cool and if you need something else the staff is ready to help you out, especially Rodel, who keep things working pretty well there. I stayed in a single room with Tv, desk, small fridge, closet and a double bed. They have also a full kitchen, a shared laundry, and a shared bathroom in case you stay in a room without one. More than anything, the Park Hotel is about location. Just a few blocks from Union Square, Chinatown, Yerba Buena, Embarcadero and Financial District, it's a budget in the center of Downtown San Francisco!

The Park Hotel is a clean, no frills hotel with a wide range of accomodations. One can stay in a single room with shared bathroom on up to a room with two double beds and en suite bathroom. There is one full kitchen to share among residents and rooms have a small refrigerator. There is a classic, cage style elevator with manual folding gate and door; no hotel phones in the rooms; television with limited channel selection; no air conditioning, so windows may be opened but there are no screens. WiFi coverage is sketchy. Hotel computer connectivity is problematic. There is a clothes washer/dryer. The hotel is located near Union Square. The reception desk closes at midnight or 1 AM and re-opens at 7 AM but residents do have keys to the front door and their room. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Discuss your desired room characteristics with the staff. Street view, noisy. Air shaft window, ro...

Having stayed in a few places in San Francisco this rates at the bottom of my list!
I stayed at the Mosser Hotel before coming back to San Francisco for the night and thought a change would be nice, what a mistake! The hotel is dingy and old, and looks like one of those halfway houses you see on TV that accommodates people who have come from prison or are homeless bums.
The rooms are bigger than The Mosser hotel, but feel and look dirty! It it very basic and doesn't even have air con! Come on! This is America! Everywhere had air con! Opening the window to some small dark alley did not feel safe, it's also smelly and stank of urine and beer.

Yes it central but the mosser is only a few blocks down the road! I wish I didn't choose to stay here on my return leg of the trip!

Room Tip: Just don't stay here

Thank you so much for choosing to stay at The Park Hotel. I would, however, like to extend my deepest apologies about your stay. Having a dirty room is not acceptable and is something that we take very seriously. As for the air conditioner, we do apologize about the temperature of the room; as we have an older building and San Francisco usually does have much more mild temperatures we do not have air-conditioning like a lot of the hotels in our city. If you have any suggestions to make the hotel more comfortable, or aesthetically pleasing, do not hesitate to let us know. We take suggestions very seriously and would love to be able to have you come back one day! Thank you!
