I would totally recommend this tour to my friends. This was an amazing experience and we throughly enjoyed everything, especially seeing the Golden Gate Bridge so close-up at the Marin Headlands and going to the Muir Beach overlook. I would recommend this tour if you want to get outside of the city. You meet the tour guide at the Ferry Building which is super convenient. Thank you so much!!

We booked the 5-hour tour ($69 adults) for our first full day in San Francisco. This turned out to be an excellent way to get to see the main sights before exploring further on our own. We had a first-class guide (Dennis) who gave lots of information about the city.
We met at the Ferry Building, boarded our small tour bus (there were about 20 people on this tour) and completed the itinerary as advertised. We finished by going over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito, where we had lunch (you can take a packed lunch or but lunch there), and then we returned by ferry to the Ferry building. There were plenty of opportunities for bathroom stops.
Definitely recommended!

The entrance fee to Muir Woods and the ticket for the ferry were included. Multiple view points included (Marin Headlands, Muir Beach) packed a lot into the tour for a reasonable price. The visit to Muir Woods was 90 minutes, which in my opinion was the right amount of time. The tour bus was comfortable. The tour guide (Carl) was very friendly. The tour starts in front of the Ferry Building, and it was a bit tricky finding Carl; we were told to look for someone wearing a red jacket and holding a clipboard. It took us a while to find her. The tour lasted approximately four and a half hours. It was well worthwhile.

We decided on this tour which starts in Mt. Tamalpais State Park and goes downhill into Muir Woods National Monument. Vicki was our guide and she was very knowledgeable about the history, the trees and the undergrowth. I was amazed that they ran the tour since there were only seven of us on a large shuttle bus. The trail was called the Ocean View Trail and there were many hikers taking the path uphill. The path was narrow at times and had a significant amount of roots and loose stones. It was imperative to watch your steps carefully on the 1 hour descent. There were also a few large obstacles on the path. Extra time was spent in Muir Woods where there were paved paths and mostly level. We made a stop which was much too brief in Sausalito. It was a busy day and we barely had time to grab lunch before getting back on the bus. Our tour began and ended at the Ferry Building. On hindsight, we should have stayed in Sausalito longer and paid to take the ferry back at our leisure.

Booked the double deal with SanFrancisco Shuttle Tours and thoroughly enjoyed our day seeing the highlights of the city centre, then a wonderful afternoon in Muir Woods. Across the two tours we had two very friendly guides - Tom and Vicki, who were very knowledgeable and passionate about the area. Our only disappointment was that we had very little time to explore Sansalitto. We would have appreciated the ability to take the return ferry at a later time rather than with the entire tour group. There was no flexibility allowed (apart from paying for the return ferry trip twice). This was a shame as there was no real structure to the ferry ride as we were only returning to the ferry building. We also advise people to carry snacks as you may miss the opportunity to have lunch as the tours may have short changeover times if the first tour gets delayed as ours did. Otherwise pretty good value for money. Nice to have tour guides that were not responsible for driving - a much more personable trip.
