For that price, I was very disappointed.
Uncomfortable beds, small bathroom, and the sink is actually outside the bathroom, in the room, which is a bit awkward. Poor choice for breakfast.
I left some personal items in the room when we left and when I contacted the hotel the very day of my check out they said they didn't find them. Seriously? I call that bad customer service.

The location is great though.

Hello Alexandra, thanks for taking the time to write a review. We are sad to here you are still missing items. The Stratford has a great reputation when it comes to lost and found. We are glad you liked the location but overall we are unhappy you did not experience the satisfaction that you should have. As for the price San Francisco fluctuates between reasonable and extremely expensive when it comes to lodging and we try to keep the rates affordable for our guests. If you ever visit us again we are sure you will receive the satisfaction you expect.

Hotel Stratford is located right on Union Square. It is close to all major transportation systems and is in a very safe area. The rooms can be quite small, but who cares, you shouldn't be in your room other than to sleep. The water pressure in the shower was fine for us and the room was clean and Cleaned daily. The breakfast in the morning was fruit, bagels, english muffins, and toast. Coffee, Tea and Juice was also available. Nothing fancy, but was fine for breakfast. The staff was very nice and welcoming. For the price, you can't beat the location and amenities (breakfast). People with bad reviews must think this is a 5-star place (at 1/3 the price). No problems what so ever! If you are using a hotel for sleeping at night and out seeing the sights all day, this is your stop.

Hint: The breakfast area is open all day. Juice, Coffee, Tea, and Cereal are always available.

We enjoyed our stay, the location is close to everything we wanted and transportation is right at the front door. Miguel was super helpful with our boarding passes, and answering all our questions! He also booked our shuttles for the airport. Elisa checked us out very efficiently and was so pleasant, she also watched for our shuttle and got us on our way in super quick time. The rooms are very small but clean, I would have liked a bathtub but the shower was fine. Breakfast was good and always ready on time.

Room Tip: If you get a room facing the front you will have the noise from the cable cars however they do suppl...

No cooling or heating in the rooms, we stayed in room 702 which gets the afternoon sun on Powell St an the room gets up to 34 degrees Celsius (melting our Ghiradelli chocolate, and there's no refrigerator either). The window only opens 10cm and the ceiling fan only helps a little.

No hot water comes out the shower head, tried both first night and morning; raised issue with front desk that morning. Problem still not fixed and we still have one more night here. Hot water works fine on tap however.

Only positives are location and that we got a double room. WiFi is also good.

Continental breakfast had poor selection, will be going elsewhere tomorrow.

Will never stay here again, there are other hotels close by at similar prices that seem to offer more.

Very disappointed.

We are displeased to hear you did not enjoy your stay. We will make sure to look into the maintenance issues and the heat, San Francisco rarely reaches above 21 degrees and we have not seen issues with heat in the past. We hope you enjoyed SF and our staff will make sure to take your comments into consideration. Thanks

This hotel is exactly where you need to be in SF, Close to shopping, transport, cable cars, and right on Union Square, The rooms are small--but did you come to SF to be in your room? I did find the room a bit stuffy, but the price was great. Like many others have mentioned, Jack is a real asset. Free breakfast was great, too.

Room Tip: The elevator is a bit slow--relax! You're on vacation!

We stayed three nights at this hotel and we had no problems what so ever. The room was small, but for the price and the location it was worth the trade-off. A tram stop right outside and Market Street two blocks away which took you to the train and multiple bus stops to take you in every direction. Breakfast was included and it was a great start to each day. Since the room was small it was a bit of a squeeze with two big suitcases, so we did have to pack them away each morning so we could walk around the room.
