“Very Impressed!”
Reviewed 20 April 2014

We stayed a total of 5 nights and really enjoyed our stay and the service was outstanding in every way. The entire staff was truly helpful and very friendly. After reading previous reviews, we did take a few to heart. We did ask for the 4th floor in a quiet area. We were granted this request. Though the room did not come with a microwave, we did request one and it was granted. As you have read from previous reviews, the hotel is very well located and a very short distance (less than 10 minute walk) from everything...Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, Ghirardelli Square, Alcatraz Tour Ferry, LOTS of tour vendors, PLENTY of restaraunts, and of course the cable car pick up and drop is actually 3 minutes away. One interesting aspect of the hotel is if you decide to pass on a day of room cleaning, you will receive a coupon for $5 off dinner in their restaraunt (Pescatore). You can use up to 2 of these coupons at once. So, we took them up on it twice and had a total of $10 off our dinner bill one night. As mentioned in previous reviews, their wine and snack time from 5 - 6pm each evening was a hit as well. The rooms were a little small compared to other hotels of the same type, but it was only the 2 of us, so we were fine.

All-in-all, we certainly enjoyed our room, our stay, the service, and when we decided to come back to SF, we will not look anywhere else but the Tuscan.

Another thought to consider when traveling to SF...Since we did not rent a car (mostly due to staying within the city and the cost of the car and parking would be well more than finding alternatives) we were completely relying on any sort of transportation we could find. We took a cab from SFO to the hotel (around $60), used public transportation (plenty of of it that stops very close to hotel), The Big Bus Tour and cable cars, and it was still cheaper than renting and parking for the time we were there. When we arrived at the hotel, our bellman offerred a "private town car" back to the airport for less than a cab ride. All we did was let him know the date/time and he took care of it. It was well worth it.

Room Tip: 4th Floor in back or courtyard view.

Green Features: Will give you a $5 coupon to use in their restaraunt (up to 2 coupons/$10 can be used at one time), if you do not have your room cleaned/serviced. Nice touch!!

Stayed here for three nights whilst travelling. The hotel is really nice however valet parking is $45 plus tax per night. This seems typical in San Fran. The hotel offers complimentary coffee 6-10am and wine 5-6pm in the lobby everyday which is a nice touch. My only negative for the stay would be the air con in the room was too noisy to be able to sleep therefore we had to putti on until the room cooled down then turn it off again.

Our extended family stayed in 4 rooms here for a weekend and all agreed we made the best choice. Nicely decorated, clean, quiet rooms steps away from all the Wharf has to offer! (We especially liked the contemporary light fixtures throughout the hotel.) Staff at front desk was phenomenal; welcoming, courteous and helpful with everyone in our group. The Saturday afternoon fireside wine reception was lovely. Lot's of people turn out and it was like having a nice cocktail party at your home with everyone chatting and relaxing with a glass of tasty wine and a nibble. Even my grandkids attended and had a little appetizer with some refreshing chilled water that had orange and lime slices. On a different day a couple of us had happy hour in Pescatore's restaurant and sat by the windows with a glass of Chardonnay and warmed Greek olives that were delish. Bartender was knowledgable and courteous.
Great hotel on the Wharf!

Room Tip: Ask to see the room first. Go into room (don't touch things), stand for a minute or two and lis...

My husband and I stayed 3 nights and it was amazing. Great location less than a 10 minute stroll to Fishermans Wharf. They offer free wine tasting each day from 5-6pm and it is a great atmosphere and a great way to meet other travellers before going out for dinner. The staff go out of their way for you and the rooms are clean and have all you need. Clise to cable car and trolley buses.
Room tip: We had a courtyard room on level 2 it was lovely and quiet.
Would stay here again it was excellent.

Room Tip: Ask for a courtyard room away as they are quiet.

The BW Tuscan Inn was perfect for our needs. Five minutes from Fisherman's Wharf, lots of great eateries and shopping. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Rooms were well appointed and clean, bed was very comfortable, bathroom was a little dated but clean and functional. One of the best reasons for staying here is the complimentary wine bar served every day between 5:00 and 6:00 in the lobby; a great way to relax and meet fellow travelers.

Stayed here for 1 week with my partner and could not fault the hotel in any way. Staff are extremely friendly, rooms are nicely decorated and in excellent condition. Wine hour from 5-6 is a super idea espeically after a tiring day spent visiting all the sights of San Francisco.

Room Tip: Rooms that are on the main street can be very noisy.

Stayed here for a nights stop over on our way to Auckland. Great location at Fisherman's Wharf and only a 3 minute walk to the waterfront. Front desk and concierge were really helpful giving us a late check out and arranging a cab to the airport. Room was noisy as at the front of the hotel. We will ask for a courtyard room on the return leg of our journey! Good place to stay for a short stay.
