I have to say the staff made and gave the place that extra wow..I will definitely come back. They made every effort to make sure you were comfortable and every need met, before you had to ask. Welcoming, individualized special service, warm and generous staff at all levels.

Stayed here briefly while on a trip to San Fran. The hotel is conveniently located by Union Square. Staff are quite friendly and the hotel and her rooms are clean and modern.

Wifi isn't free and checkout time is 11am as opposed to the standard midday. Breakfast wasn't included and like most hotels in this category, was pricey so didn't opt to eat in the hotel.

There's a music/concert venue on the premises which gives the hotel that something extra.

Hotel is nice and and obviously has the Japanese touch. However it didn't really have that wow factor for me. However don't let that put you off.

This hotel was a great value. Extremely friendly staff, very clean and was I given a free upgrade without asking. We enjoyed the room, the view and even the bed. We will be going back next time were in the city.

We only stayed at Hotel Nikko for 1 night but I wish we could've stayed longer! Our flight was cancelled and even though we were staying at the Marriott Marquis for 5 nights, the manager there decided that we weren't good enough to stay for 1 more day. We walked a few blocks and stumbles across this beautiful hotel... The staff was courteous and even showed us a sample room.
We loved that the hotel was across the street parking, next too all the awesome shopping & the trolley. It was a 5 min walk to chinatown so we took advantage.
All in all, it's a very tranquil & clean hotel that was close to everything... When we come back to San Francisco, we won't hesitate making reservations at Hotel Nikko.

We were honeymooners in SF (not my first time) so we chose a hotel that is situated closer to union square and paid a higher price for it. Having said that, we were completely satisfied with our 4 night stay at the hotel. No breakfast included so we didn't bother to check out their expensive menu. Besides, there are tons of cafes/restaurants just across the street so you'll get a variety of options if you step out. Wifi is not free in the room, again something that you'd expect at this price. However, there is a starbucks attached to the hotel so just pop in to use it.
They have valet service for your cars but park outside - it's cheaper! The lobby is quite pleasant with ambient lighting, water with fresh lemon & ice (we stayed in sept) & a helpful concierge. Check in was smooth & we got a room on a high floor (our request) facing another hotel (I think it was the hilton). The room itself was quite nice, spacious for one large suitcase as it had a sofa & a table but sufficient storage space with a locker. The bathroom is what I really like with a tub as well a separate shower area. The housekeeping staff left their names so that we could leave feedback for them or contact them directly. Not that I needed to, but a good idea.
All in all, very comfortable stay. Nothing to complain about. However, if I found an equally good place at a better rate, I would definitely go for it. Nikko was nothing spectacular for us to stay again at the price we paid! It was our best option for the selected dates.

Room Tip: Stay downtown, close to union square. Easier to move around & find transportation.

Dear SDM1486,

Congratulations and we hope that you loved your romantic honeymoon getaway in San Francisco! Thank you for your four-circle review of Hotel Nikko SF. Keep in mind that our prices fluctuate depending on the demand of the city, and many of the hotels around Union Square also charge for wifi. On your next visit, we recommend that you book a package deal that better fits your needs. In addition, try asking for a room on one of the upper floors for the best views in the city! We hope that you visit us soon!

Hotel Nikko is a pretty average hotel. The location is interesting in that it's between Union Square and Tenderloin, which makes for an interesting mix of tourists and homeless. The room and hotel itself is nice enough, but shows some age. There was a fairly annoying beeping sound coming from the street 24/7 though. Not sure if it was a pedestrian crossing signal or something, but it definitely was annoying.

I brought my family here for a little "staycation" over spring break. We stayed in one of the fancy rooms on the top floor and it was awesome. The lounge for these floors is very nice. Every staff member we came in to contact with was friendly and helpful when needed. My kids loved the pool, which is under a glassed in roof.

10/10 would stay again.
