My husband and I stayed here for two nights in February. We weren't expecting too much- living by the motto of "you get what you pay for" and this hotel was fairly cheap.
With that being said, the room was VERY outdated and small. The location was good though- about a 15 minute walk to the wharf, close to the famous part of Lombard street and not too far from Chinatown. The neighborhood seemed very safe as well.

Stayed five nights during SF Beer Week 2014.

The location was descent, around 15 minutes walk to Fishermans Wharf, 45 minutes to downtown. Check in and check out went fast, and the rate was good.

Our room was ok, nothing special but reasonably clean and with ok beds. For a Swedish guy like me the breakfast was a disappointment, we only had breakfast during one morning. It was very crowded and with few choices.

The Wi-Fi worked poorly during the whole stay, that's always irritating. We didn't spent a lot of time in the room so this hotel was an ok one during our beer adventure in SF.

2.5/5

Stayed for four days. We did not want to pay the sky high prices of other hotels and chose this hotel versus other smaller hotels near Union Square.

The location is actually great, a little further out from the bustle of downtown. The area is quiet, residential and very easy walk to the water and Fishermans Wharf and just an extremely steep walk up Lombard street to the curvy road. There are convenient bus lines close to the hotel. We preferred the area to the very loud and colourful characters of union square.

The hotel itself was kept well. Our room was clean, including the bathroom. The beds were clean and comfortable but don't expect luxurious bedding and mattresses.

Breakfast was very satisfying with a variety of foods, although no change to the menu daily.

The only drawback was the lack of wifi in the rooms. It was only available in the lobby. Hopefully that will be fixed soon.

Overall great stay in San Francisco.

There was no internet in the room. We were advised that there was a problem but how long is someone supposed to put up with it? My husband wanted to get a soda from a vending machine and we were told that machines were removed and they were getting others eventually. Breakfast was lacking in that all other Comfort Inns I have gone to had cream cheese and more than just white bread for toast. Only choice for breakfast meat was sausage patties which I don't like, never had bacon. The shower drain was very slow moving as by the time I was finished, my feet were covered with water. Also wished there was a microwave in the room.

Just a good solid hotel in a fairly central location. I had one of the top floor rooms with a view of the Bay, so it was great in that regard.
On the downside, the wifi is TERRIBLE! They contract it out and it is very frustrating.
