This is brilliant property, and there's not much more I can add to what's already been said. It's in a lovely quiet location (although top of the hills so be aware when you take out the bikes!), the staff are first class, the breakfast and afternoon wine/cheese are very good, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Yes it's quite expensive but ultimately it's worth it.

Dear Guest,

The good news is that everything is downhill from the Drisco. Literally. But figuratively too in many cases! Making your way back up may just be the challenge.

Thanks for your review.

Kind Regards,

John Spear

There were no negatives. The Pacific Heights neighborhood is gorgeous. Parking was easy, restaurants and shopping are nearby if you are able to walk a few blocks (sometimes uphill), and the views are outstanding. On the weekend, we used the #3 bus to get downtown. Very easy to use. The hotel is beautiful and full of character. The room was well-appointed and spotless. Complimentary bottles of water also. The best part though was the breakfast buffet. One of the best we've ever come across. Absolutely no question where to stay from now on in San Francisco - Hotel Drisco!

My sister booked rooms for out-of-town guests for her birthday party. This is a very charming hotel with an excellent staff. The room I had was large and had a stunning view of San Francisco, looking south from our perch in Pacific Heights. The bottled water in the room is complimentary (that's one of my pet peeves with some of the larger luxury hotels). The breakfast was great. I ordered room service, which came promptly and was very good. The neighborhood is quiet. It's a good walk down to the Marina, and if you really want to get some exercise, you can walk back up to the hotel.

Just had 5 nights at this hotel based up on the residential, quiet area of Pacific heights. From the minute we arrived from a long flight we were met with a warm smile, and genuine welcome. The hotel reminded us of the English country hotels in UK. although the hotel doesn't offer a restaurant, the room service, which us complimentary offers a reasonably priced selection of food and snacks and drinks. Water is complimentary as is tea, coffee and iced lemon water in the lounge area. The choice of continental breakfast is exemplary and every evening between 5-6pm there us a wine and soft drinks and hit and cold canapés in the dining room, where you can chat with other guests about your day.

The concierge and all hotel staff were always courteous and helpful and greeted you by name. Immaculate facilities. And our towels and bed linen were changed daily!

Pressed swimming pool and can't remove it from rating. there is NO POOL!
Highly recommended would stay again definitely. Thank you everyone.

Room Tip: All rooms were good, room 102 was on ground floor with full access to the lounge and drinks early mo...

In a residential area, which made it nice and peaceful. Old with charm. Service was there when you needed it, but not in your face all the time. Parking not as big a problem as we thought. If you are moving around in your car during the day, night parking was easy to find. Don't forget to ask for specialty coffees for breakfast, they will make them for you.

We stayed at the Hotel Drisco for a week at the beginning of October. What a charming, beautiful property, with equally charming staff! Nothing was too much trouble and we were left complimentary champagne in our room on the day of our wedding anniversary. Complimentary breakfast was delicious and the wine tasting an added bonus. Lots of complimentary extras really made a difference, such as bottled water, tea and coffee all day, printing in their business centre, DVD rental etc. The hotel is in a beautiful location with amazing views of the city and surrounded by incredible properties but do be prepared - you are not in the 'heart of action' if that's what you are looking for and some evenings it did feel like a bit of a trek back at the end of the day or after an evening out. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again though and can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet 4th floor room with a view of the city.

Beautiful 110 year old hotel in high point of city. Only hotel among multi-million dollar homes. Only 48 rooms and breakfast and wine/horderves in evening - for free - make the pricey hotel a real deal. Completely safe area with accommodating staff. Was able to book through hotel for less than the travel sites offered.

Room Tip: Get a deluxe king with city view---or a suite.
