The prices were steep like every other place in downtown SF. Location is fantastic. Can walk to most places not involving the harbors/piers in the downtown area.

The rooms are clean, apparently updated. No hot tub, but very nice work - out area.

Highly recommended.

Love the location. Clean rooms with modern flare. Perfect for San Francisco. The rooms were a little on the small size for our family of 4. Is nice to have the Starbucks in the lobby. The parking fee is outrageous with an added 5$ per night for larger cars that take up the same space.

The Grand Hyatt is a very stylish large hotel, in ultra competitive hotel cultured San Francisco. It's well located next to Union Square, and easy to access. Staff were graceful and accommodating - door were always held open for us.

The rooms were recently renovated and lovely - nice warm wood materials, comfy beds, and lovely bathroom fixtures. A nice touch - a sliding door on the bathroom that has an opaque glass window in it. If someone is in the bathroom, the area immediately outside is still lit up.

The only thing this hotel could really use is a hot tub. Hard to justify why a hotel of this size and quality wouldn't have one.

Overall however, a place I'd gladly stay again, if their rates are reasonable :-)

Room Tip: Upper floors give better views...

Very modern hotel, very nice. Be aware that room sound isolation leaves much to be desired.

Ask for a room in a high floor. Mine in 8th floor was not well insulated against street noises.

I wouldn't hesitate to come back but only on a high floor.

In a nutshell this is a great location. A fairly good price for a very nice hotel. Efficient. Modern rooms. Located overlooking Union Square, this is the perfect hub and allows you to walk everywhere and easily find your way around town. Taxi's are easy to find from here. The hotel is newly refurbished and very modern. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. It has a very cool modern vibe and younger audience. The rooms are small but very nice with electronic shades (very cool). The bar is a great place to connect with friends and have a few drinks. I did not eat in the restaurant so I cannot speak to this part of the hotel. But overall I really liked it. I did not give it a 5 because it's not the best place I've stayed in SF, but overall you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: You can upgrade to a bay view which is nice if this is your first time to SF. After all, that is wo...

I'm not suggestion that this is a 5 star hotel in terms of hotel ratings, but everything about this place was excellent and deserves an excellent Trip Advisor rating. It is an excellent value! The design is very modern decor, very non-traditional. Service was excellent, rooms very nice with most offering great views. It is an excellent hotel, great value, in a great part of the city.

Room Tip: No parking garage for the hotel. Public garage under union squar and one kitty corner from the hotel...
