“Always love the kimptons!”
Reviewed 16 August 2014

If you've stayed at a kimpton before, I don't need to go on and on...you know they're something special. But what makes this one stand out is the location. Right under the Bay bridge with a great view and walking distance to the ferry building, local artists, restaurants and food trucks! I can't wait to return to walk to a giants game and try the sushi restaurant right next door to the hotel...looks delicious!!!

I'm already a fan of the hotel and location, but I've been meaning to write a nice note to compliment Sandi and Chris at the front desk. These two are sweethearts and gems. Keep up the great work, you two!

After reading reviews re internal rooms we made sure to book a bayside upper floor. It was quiet and staff was extremely helpful and friendly. One star off for the room issue and some slowness on housekeeping room requests. Will update later as our SF trip unfolds. So far, so good!

Staff was very nice and checkin/checkout was quick, even though I arrived in well after 1AM due to a delayed flight. The hotel is right near the ferry building and convenient to transit stops. Views of the bay bridge are lovely and the neighborhood feels safe even after dark (and I am a solo female traveler).

randomly selected the hotel based on it's proximity to the waterfront. The hotel is a good half hour walk to the main pier on the waterfront but the walk is great for people watching! Right across the road (water side) is a great light sculpture where people gather at night to have a drink or smoke (weed). The vibe is very chill and you don't need to feel unsafe as everyone seemed happy.

The hotel itself had one of the smallest rooms I have ever stayed in (was not a big deal if you don't care about the size of the room) The hotel is pet friendly and if you so want you can have a goldfish delivered to your room for company.

I will go back!

Delightful service at Harbor Court. The staff was friendly and efficient, the location is first rate. It was my daughter's first trip to San Francisco so the staff surprised her with a treat by leaving a pint of sea salt caramel gelato in our mini fridge. Such a nice touch. We had a room without a view, but did not have the same issues with sound that other reviewers experienced. We slept soundly on a very comfortable bed. Our only complaint was that the bathroom smelled heavily of urine. Had we been staying more than one night, I would have asked for another room.

A great Hotel in many ways - the usual great and friendly Kimpton experience. However, be warned that the internal rooms are noisy as they overlook an ugly internal courtyard and there is a constant drone of plant and equipment noise. I didn't care about the view (I was there on business) but did care about the noise which prevented me from sleeping well. The staff did move me to try and solve but it didn't help and even they noted that all of the internal rooms would have the noise. I understand the bay side rooms are quiet. So if sleep is important to you and/or earplugs are not effective then suggest you get a bay side room for the extra money. I'm posting this review in the interests of helping - as I noted that all the rave reviews were primarily for the bay side rooms!

Room Tip: choose a bayside room for a quiet room
