I have stayed in better Hampton Inns. The location is really next to Chinatown, which is ok so long as you understand that it is a ten minute walk to Union Square.

Dirty - Hair in the bathroom, scum around the tub. Chronic case of bad cleaning. The hotel windows are uniformly filthy. It is tough to see outside of the room or any other window in the place.

Broken - Tub would not drain, shower curtain rod half broken and drooping.

Unsafe - I called the front desk to get them to address the slow draining tub. While they did fix the problem, the door to my room was open when I returned at the end of the day! Luckily, nothing was taken, but it was still disturbing that the hotel staff is so careless.

TIP: The other Hilton in town is much better, and there are also many better choices in town. The airport/Burlingame area is also convenient to come into town and to see other sites in the Bay area.

I've stayed here off and on for a while. The location is great for tourists, not for business. They work specific hours, dont try to valet after 10, not everything is 24hr. Much closer to Chinatown than Financial District.

Clean lobby, tired rooms.

On behalf of our staff, I, sincerely, apologize that our hotel service and accommodations is average during your stay. Our Valet parking is 24 hours on Friday and Saturday. We understand that this may have negatively impacted your past stays. I assure you that our management continues to evaluate the use of the overnight valet. Our team hopes that you will return and stay with us again.

Found a great weekend rate here on Booking.com. Some of the TA reviews made me a little skeptical but we had a great two nights on the 22nd flloor. Loved the whole-wall long desk along the window. Beds were comfortable. There are double curtains so that you can have diffused light with a little privacy, or complete blackout. No HVAC noise.

I marveled at how friendly everyone was. Just walking down the hall in the morning, all the cleaning staff paused to look up and say good morning to me. The front desk was very helpful at every turn.

Drag that they charge $10 for each device you want to connect to wi-fi but they have a number of Apple computers in the lobby for free and wi-fi in the lobby is free. Consequently guests are scattered and perched wherever they can find seating to connect downstairs.

For me, the location is San Francisco-perfect. At the intersection of Chinatown, North Beach and the Financial district. You can walk anywhere from here. I will definitely check it first for future trips.

On downside - as mentioned on other reviews, they did not install enough elevators in this hotel. Expect long waits and frequent stops. They even make money with in-elevator advertising while you wait...

Room Tip: High floors have views and quiet. But there's a trade-off with crowded and slow-opening elevators.

My experiences with Hilton Financial District was very positive. Cleanliness, quietness, professionalism score high marks. The views and accommodations on the Executive level were quite good. The food provided at the Executive lounge could use an upgrade.
