“Great Location; Great For Pets”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 May 2008

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel while on a recent roadtrip with our small dog to San Francisco. We were very pleased with the accomodations, which were even a little nicer than expected given the reasonable price of the room per night. The room was very clean, well maintained and comfortable. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful and available all night long. The food in the on-site restaurant and the breakfast cafe was quite good. The hotel was very conveniently located to shops, tourist attractions and restaurants. The parking was also extremely convenient (which was imporant since we traveled throughout the city in our car -- which was actually, contrary to popular belief, very easy to do). In addition, we found the hotel to be quite convenient for pet owners who travel with their pets because there is a small park across the street from the hotel for those required early morning and late night visits. All in all, we really liked this hotel. We will stay there again. In fact, we have a visit scheduled for next month.

We paid $72/night for a Friday to Monday stay in May through Priceline. I can easily say I would have paid more for the room. We were in the Beach Building (where the Denny's restaurant is located) next door to the main building on the third floor and I didn't think there was any issue with being in the other building. We had an interior room, so we heard no street noise. The room and bathroom were both spacious and very clean. Beds were plenty comfortable. We had a desk and an arm chair in the room as well. The street cars that run along the wharf pick up right outisde the rear doors and two cable car line pick ups are within a very close walk. There is a Safeway grocery store about 3 blocks down the street (handy for cheap eats/drinks). There was also a much cheaper car parking lot (I want to say less than $20 a day) on North Point Street.

  • Liked — Front desk very helpful, handy for wharf sights & public transport

I booked this hotel through Hotwire for just $62 per night and when I checked their website the same room would have been $200 so I really got a bargain. The rooms are nice, spacious and comfortable. Same with the bathrooms. Usual toiletries, hairdryer and towels are provided and house keeping come once a day. We we initially given a room on the 5th floor which we thought the toilet didnt flush properly and when we complained we were moved instantly. There is a bit of street noise but it is a busy area so you will get that at any time of the day.

The location is so convenient. The hotel is literally one block back from the main fishermans wharf. There is a street car stop and a bus stop outside which can take you to Union Square. Pier39 is less than 5 minutes walk.

The downside is the cost for parking but everywhere is like that in San Fran and with the location and the public transport you really dont need a car.

I enjoyed my stay here. It is a good hotel. I am not sure if it is worth $200 a night but accomodation is not cheap in San Fran and it is comforting to know that it is safe to walk around the area at night as there are some dodgy areas in San Fran.

Booked threw Priceline
The hotel room was large and clean and well located for all tourist activities
The restaurant located in the hotel was ok but over priced ( only had breakfast there the day we left to save time)

Our overall experience was good here. We stayed 5 nights and it was truly only a place to sleep. Too much to do!

The parking is OUTRAGEOUS--$42 a night. (FYI--it's only $40 if you get a parking ticket on the street! Oops!) We needed our car for our trips out of the city otherwise don't get a car. The trolley stops right outside the front door, so that's handy.

This hotel was convenient for everything we wanted. There is a Denny's on the first floor. We ate there once and it was all right--nothing special. The room cleaning ladies were all very friendly. With the exception of one desk clerk, all other staff was friendly as well.

  • Liked — It's location to Fisherman's Wharf.
  • Disliked — There wasn't really anything memerable about the hotel.

Stayed for 3 nights recently. After a long flight from Australia, we woke up the next morning very relaxed and ready to go exploring. Very handy location to fishermans wharf, bay area and all public transport. Room comfortable and clean. Would stay here again if we were back in San Francisco.

A friend and I stayed here for three nights for a girls weekend get-away. We booked through Hotwire so didn't know exactly what hotel we were getting until after we booked. But the location was great, close to cable car line, F-Line, Ghiradelli and the Buena Vista, a great place to stop in in the evening for an Irish coffee. rooms were spacious, beds were comfortable, staff was very friendly. Only draw-back, single-pane windows allow alot of noise in through the night and early morning. We could hear everything from garbage trucks emptying the dumpsters to people shouting and laughing on the street after a night of clubbing. But all-in-all, great value. Would definitely return.
