Our family stayed here April 15-20 2014 for our spring break vacation, 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The hotel was average, clean and friendly staff. I thought our room was smaller than other Holiday Inns in the past. Not having a refrigerator or microwave in the room as a standard amenity was really inconvenient and would be a reason to not choose this hotel again.

The internet was so slow, we just shut our computers off and used our smart phones. Beds were comfortable, but small. Also, it would've been nice to have another table for eating and a few chairs. Really crowded for a family of four.
.
The location on the other hand was excellent. This is located in a great area in which we did not need a car, but were able to navigate by public transportation, and mostly walked to everything we needed. It was also nice to be close to so many restaurants and stores.

Great location for exploring Fisherman's wharf and the bay area. Rooms were clean and staff very helpful. The hotel is a short stroll from the buzzing pier 39 and the ferries to Alcatraz and Sausalito.

Room Tip: Request a room in the main hotel rather than one in the annex, especially if travelling in a group.

I stayed here for 5 days over Easter. The hotel is well located and is easy walking distance to Fishermen's Wharf, sightseeing buses and cable car terminal. The room was very comfortable as was the bed. The bathroom was spacious and clean. There was a micro-wave & fridge in my room and that was very useful. The only downside was my room on the 5th floor and was located above where they often do a 4am rubbish pickup and that woke me each time. Other than that well worth staying here. Plenty if of great places to eat at nearby.

My family and i stayed here from april 12-14, it was a quick spring break getaway. The location of this hotel is by far the best part, literally within walking distance of pier 39, ghirardelli square and other popular attractions. Another huge plus for me was that this is one of the very few hotels in the area that has a heated pool, i traveled with 3 children under 12 so a pool is always great entertainment! The staff was very friendly and very helpful, the customer service was excellent. The accommodations met my expectations it was clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay again!

Room Tip: I booked this hotel thru hotwire, i paid half the price i was quoted by the hotel and other websites...

We thought we were in the main building but we where actually in the newer building 1 block across the road. Not a real problem but a pain to have to go to the gym and pool in the main building. Also no bar or restaurant in this smaller anex.
Very clean and tidy but $10 a day to rent a small fridge for the room is crazy. Every other place I've stayed like this always as a fridge, even comfort inns etc

we had a very nice 10 day holiday in San Francisco although clean and well run the room was to small to call it a family room.
the virgin rep when we booked said that one of the double beds was a large king size and big enough to split into 2 singles with spare pillows down the middle but this was not the case both beds were small size doubles and only 1 bed side cabinet between them and only 2 chairs in the room.
It was a lovely city to visit but none of us slept well, its about time travel firms catered properly for families with older kids.

Great location for a stay near Fisherman's Wharf. Car parking available. Free wifi and guest laundry in both buildings (small charge) . Efficient check in and friendly helpful staff.
Rooms with ac, safe, hairdryer, iron and fridge. HI also offer complimentary toiletries and if needed straightening irons....great for me as my travel ones are not great.
Our room was on top floor although quiet we could hear the ac on the roof.
Free use of computers too on designated floors.
Great place to stay when youre in the City
