“Nice, small, but good for the budget”
Reviewed 30 May 2014 via mobile

Hotel is like an apartment, yet very well styled and looks great. Rooms are like a European small, so enough room to sleep, shower and room for luggage. Walking distance to all local shopping and the rail cars. There's a valet service or you can self park a few blocks away for cheaper. Great price for being right downtown. Just be aware that there will be street noise and noise from other guests, but they do provide ear plugs in your room which is nice. Would stay here again.

As it might be known to everyone,San Francisco is an expensive place to stay-especially if you make your plans at very short notice. The Mosser was a perfect for a last-minute reservation;my friend and I had to go for a room for two with shared bathroom, but it was so clean that I'm sure it would be OK to reserve that room for a couple of days. The location of the hotel is superb;the bus and tram stops are just in front of the hotel as well as Bart,by which you can get to and from the airport.A very small breakfast with muffins and tea/coffee is served in the lobby, which I liked since it would have been exactly the same breakfast I would have spent money on outside. So,overall, will I stay at the Mosser again if I go to SF?Yes,I will.

We had such a nice stay - after my past three hotels were mediocre I was really pleased with the room size, design, cleanliness and service. We will definitely stay again! Great location as well. Love the bay windows :)

We got what we expected since it was cheaper and located in San Francisco. The hotel was well maintained and in a great location close to shopping and public transportation. However, the room was very small and too crowded for 2 people. Plus, we had a window on the side street and it was so loud that we could not keep the windows open at night. That was especially hard since there was no air conditioning. It served our purpose just fine, but if you are the least bit picky about your hotel, I would not recommend this.

Thank you for the comments. We encourage our guests to write us a review so we could improve our services. The Mosser Hotel is a historic type of property built in 1913 located right in the heart of downtown San Francisco. We maintained the Victorian look from the outside and completely renovated the rooms from the inside. We have quaint rooms with well-appointed and custom-made furniture. To reduce the noise sources surrounding our property, we provided every room two double paned windows. These windows can be opened from the inside. For light sleepers, we provide ear plugs as well. All our rooms come with ceiling fans. Air conditioning units in historic properties are usually not an option. The San Francisco weather becomes cold at night and towards early morning. It is only a few days in a year when it becomes warm and all San Franciscans welcome this type of weather. Once again, thank you for staying with us.

We were here in august 2013 for 3 nights.
This hotel is situated at 30 seconds to Market street.
The quality / price rapport is more then good.
Our room was very clean and comfortable.
All the staff was very gentle and professional with us.
We'll be there for sure!

Very small room and pretty noisy. Great price and location...if driving rental car budget for valet at $39. Did not realize the standard room used the community bathroom unless you pay for a private bathroom upgrade. Concierge was very nice!

Good price even during the marathon, good customer service from front desk to bell hop concierge, clean rooms friendly staff, great location. Good coffee in the morning and muffins. Close to everything you want in San Fran, F train that will take you around the piers, the trolly, public transit that can take you every where else, all good!
Thanks for everything! And hope to stay there again.

Room Tip: Nice view the higher you go and maybe a bit quieter. Remember your staying downtown it wont be quite...
