The hotel is old and follows the european approach with extremely small rooms and if lucky small bathroom in your room. Make sure you ask before you book the room if you want a private bath. The room was clean and the guy was cleaning the elevator every morning when I got coffee. Fresh fruit would have made the breakfast a little more bearable but the coffee was good and the muffins adequate. Location was close to Union square. A tip to travelers don't wait in the line at the cable car turnaround on Powell Street, walk up the block to the next pick up spot (find the sign) they leave the turnarounds 1/2 full and pick up a few passengers at each stop. The only downfall to the hotel was parking and the price of $39.00 per day is criminal. They alleged it was for unlimited exits but we never touched the car for 3 days. If you are planning for a longer time frame the room would have been to small but it was ok for three days. The price was much lower (even with bathroom) then any other hotel in the area ($200 per night) PS AVOID the TENDERLOIN District very dangerous and lots of crappy hotels. We drove through on our bus tour which we ended up using like a taxi to get around the city. You can get it at Union Sq.
