This hotel is quite dated but clean, tidy and in an excellent location.
After a booking.com mishap, Pacific heights offered us a room at the same rate as the hotel we had booked and we were relieved to rest of heads for the night. Jonah at reception was very friendly and helpful.
The location is excellent being a 20 minute walk to the fishermans wharf area.
The room was spacious, clean albeit a bit dated and was a suitable base for a busy two days in San Francisco.
The breakfast consisted of muffins / juice / coffee, but as a freebie you can't really complain.
Free parking is a big perk!

A super location - Union Street/ Van Ness.... walking distance to many tourist sights. easy to drive to and from too. The staff were very helpful and informative. We had a room at the front of the motel - with 3 double beds so perfect for a family of 5. There was very little traffic noise... didn't disturb us. The free parking space is a HUGE bonus... many other places charge $35-50 (+Tax) per night.

Gotta' love those lazy SOB's who love their car alarms. I was able to enjoy them right out my motel room door. Loved the Pacific Heights Inn, but hate those SOB's who ruined my experience with their car alarm chirps and beeps all day and all night. Can't you just manually lock your car door when your horn is 3 feet from my bed!? $150 plus $20 in taxes/Thursday night Queen. Same rate offered Friday night. Front desk check-in very friendly and very helpful.

After our previous nights' B&B experience in San Francisco, for a fantastic place at a similar price, it's hard to say this motel was good value. Having said that, it was adequate, and included free parking (albeit very narrow spots).

Our room was at the back, in the so-called deluxe area, which I think just meant further away from the road and potential noise. The room was fine - a big, comfortable bed, a settee, and a bathroom that was recently refurbished so attempts to keep the place to a reasonable standard.

The guy at the desk when we checked in was friendly and helpful but I think we'd just been spoilt by much better places to stay.

Breakfast was uninspiring - grab a muffin and a coffee from the office and take it back to your room, type thing. We went elsewhere - La Boulange on Polk Street was a great find.

This motel was not THAT bad. It's like a painting.. When you look at it from far away it looks great.. Start looking at the details and it all goes downhill from there. The carpet is a little rinky-dinky. The couch has seen better days.. But the beds were actually comfortable and it was the first flat screen TV with decent cable selection of all the hotels I stayed at !!! It was quiet the 2 days I stayed here. The pub noise was muffled and I didn't see any questionable business going on... I made it my mission to be-friend the unfriendly front desk lady. She gave me a good restaurant suggestion afterall!.. Free parking is also well appreciated !!

Room Tip: this hotel has a bus stop that takes you right to Market St/Downtown (# 45) costs $2.00 per person v...

Average rooms set on 2 floors around a central parking area which can be tricky to park in but it's free in Frisco. Basic breakfast in morning was enough to get us up and going. Bus stops one block away on Van Ness and takes you down to the wharf area. Want a walk, it's about 6 blocks from the crooked Lombard Street and the tram service. Overall a good, cheaper option for staying close to the downtown sights. Visit Frisco out of season it'll be much quieter.
