“Excellent Sheraton property at a great location!”
Reviewed 11 February 2014

I stayed 2 nights during a week long trip to San Francisco, and was fairly happy with the hotel - it met my expectations. They were generous enough to let me check in to the room early (as it was ready). As a SPG member, I was given a Starwood preferred guest room, which had a spacious balcony attached overlooking the pool with view of the city. Fortunately I got a good price as well (by SF standards). The room was well appointed, spotless clean and I had no issues with my stay. The only thing that was below expectation was the (really) small size of the bathroom and the pretty old and noisy heating unit. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room also had a nice couch and some extra chairs + flatscreen TV with a good selection of channels.

Location is the real winner for this hotel, just steps away from Fisherman's Wharf and walking distance to other major tourist sites like Coit Tower and Lombard Street.

I would definitely look forward to stay here in the future.

Room Tip: Starwood preferred room has a balcony overlooking the pool and offering city views.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights, short and sweet, the wi fi isn't free which in today's market should be included, the staff are great, Jenny at the front desk moved us to another room as the guy staying in the room above us was up and about banging and thumping until about 2am, I finally fell asleep then, if you can ask for a room on floor 4, to get some sleep as we had a 0700 flight the next day. The staff are so helpful, the convenience of the Safeway and Walgreen across the road was a plus, and the short stroll to the pier was great. The cable cars cost $6 each one way and takes you to Union square, I would definitely stay again if the wi if was free.

We stayed here after we came in on a cruise ,found the hotel was in a good location for fisherman,s wharf ,pier 39 and the cable cars were not too far away ,the room was clean and a nice big bed ,the staff were very helpful but the wi-fi was very expensive ,we decided to order room service 1 night as we had been out all day it was awful and cost nearly $100 for for 2 fish ( out of a freezer )and chips ,I sweet and coffee for 2 , and on last day it was raining so we decided to try the breakfast that was awful as well .so if you want food go someway else to eat .

This is not a luxury hotel, but is by far the best value on the wharf.

The good:
Location, location, location
Value
Patio seating with fire pits
Great service
A cafe with wine and a little food
Clean pool

The bad:
Small rooms that are outdated
Pay for parking (But you have to pay for parking everywhere in San Fran)
Pay for Wifi

This hotel is not a full service hotel, they have no restaurant, just a buffet available for a nice $27.00 breakfast. The rooms are really basic, with a worn out bath, small and noisy. Now having said this if you want to pay between $150 and $180 for the perfect location at Fisherman's Wharf than this is ok. This hotel is clean and well located but is old and needs updating.

Great location. Excellent value, small basic clean bathroom but good sized room, asked for upgrade to view and was very pleased to look over pool and garden. Stayed with my adult son so twin beds a must, hotel ensured everything was done accordingly. We were blessed with unbelievably good weather in January so that made everything fantastic! For the price, we thought it brilliant. Staff always different but always helpful, went out of their way to give satisfaction. Beds were splendid. Room service good too, although overpriced but no more than usual. We enjoyed watching current release movies, also expensive but given that we paid about $110 per night it was still great value overall.

Room Tip: Request pool or garden view

Sadly some part of this hotel are worth 5 stars such as the concierge and the location, while other are disappointing, such as having to pay for access to WiFi, serious outdated in today marketplace where you normally only have to pay when you are staying at the bottom end of the market and they are milking you for every penny. My only other major let down was that I was located at the back of the hotel over looking the bus garage, which sadly mean't that the room was noisy most of the day as the city runs an overnight bus service. I am used to residual noise having live in Central London but, the beeping of buses reserving and the general filtering of noise from outside was disappointing.

This was the worst of the hotel I stayed in while I was In The US though, I may still return in the future but ensure I asked to be at the front of the hotet rather than the back, and with the option of a large amount of free WiFi in the city the, I would not resort to paying for the WiFi which is a rip of in today's marketplace.
