The Good Points

The location of this place was excellent, close to everything, we found very little need to have to use the car.
Free Parking in this location was definately a plus.

The Bad Points

While we were there the available car spaces were far outweighed by the number of people with cars. We took the car out once while we were there and waited about 15-20 mins to get a parking spot when we arrived back, as we didnt want to risk leaving our car on the street we opted to just leave it there once we got a spot for the duration of our stay.

The noise you hear inside the rooms in the place really is the worst for any hotel room we've ever stayed in. You can hear everything in these rooms, from rooms above, from either side room and especially from outside. We could easily hear people talking in adjacent rooms and clearly make out their conversations and television noise. The 7 11 across the street open to late seemed to attract alot of homeless drunks, with them yelling and swearing unitl all hours of the morning and the rest of the noise from inside the hotel we didnt sleep well at all.

The room itself was clean but dated we were on the first floor, it was quite concerning to see that our room door out onto the balconcy, the area of timber around the lock was quite severely damaged and we felt was quite unsecure. For people who havent seen this hotel we were on the first floor and to gain access from street level would be quite easy. We went and saw the front desk and they said were fully booked and there was nothing they could do and werent willing to even come and check the door.

Our next visit we will stay in the same area but spend the extra few dollars and stay at one of the 3 chain hotels within 100m of this place.

From the baloney of our room, we could see Fisherman's Wharf. The room was okay but the location and free parking made up for it. Since it's located on a busy street the noice from the busses, trucks, etc bothered us alittle. I would recommend this motel for anyone on a budget. I would definately stay here the next time I'm in San Francisco.

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights on 3rd floor room with queen bed. The hotel is basic, but clean & comfortable. There are no frills, but in SF, you can't beat the location, free parking, and the cost. If you have a car, this is the best place to stay since most hotels charge anywhere from $30 to $50 per night for parking. There is some street noise at night, but because of the cold weather, it was quiet after midnight. The internet is free, but slow - works fine for checking e-mail.

Lying here gone midnight listening to the next bunch of idiots driving past blasting their car systems out. All generally ok except for fact might as well have door open as no sound proofing at all. Left bad impression of San Francisco its so bad. Fed up and tired. Just cannot wait to get out of this place. All low lifes congregate outside hotel to make as much noise as possible. Bring ear plugs or avoid like the plague.

EXCELLENT value. FREE Parking - find that elsewhere near the bay !! An older hotel, but very well maintained, clean, and run by a great staff. TRULY A RARE FIND. We will stay there again, and HIGHLY recommend it. It's not the Ritz-Carlton, but it's perfectly located, and an easy walk to the piers. For the money, you will find none better.
