Front desk manager was very accommodating and went the extra mile to make my stay comfortable. The hotel was a bit old for my taste, but because of the service it was worth it. I’d definitely consider coming back again.

Just stayed a weekend a nice room. The people who work at the hotel were kind and fun to talk to. Particular thank you to: Iyra, Vincent, Johnathan, the lady bartender, and Eddie. They offered good suggestions for best ways to walk places and they even helped me get a discount code for a ride to the airport. Nice ! In a strange place hosts who are friendly and enjoy helping really makes a difference.

Great location. Easy to get to from Powell Bart station. If you’re fit, a walk up Powell but it is steep after Union Sq, very steep. Take the cable and the hotel is just 30 seconds away when you jump off at Powell & Bush.

Excellent friendly service at check in and the two free drinks were very welcome. The bar area is excellent. Clean and good drinks.

For a basic breakfast it was excellent. Good coffee. Bacon, sausages, waffles, fruit, pastries. It can get busy so choose your breakfast time carefully.

Rooms are very clean with very comfortable beds. Bathrooms are small but not to the point of discomfort. The room sizes are good though. The iron and ironing boards are spot on.

I stayed two stays and different rooms. 4th floor to the side was good. Quiet and I slept well, even with the elevator opposite my door. Next stay was 2nd floor at the front. Large corner room but incredibly noisy and bright. Even with the blinds closed daylight filled the room at sunrise. If you’re there take earplugs. I slept badly in that room. It really does need blackout blinds.

It would be a 5* rating if not for the 2nd floor room. For the price and location I highly recommend though.
