Made a reservation for Sat night on open table, was not necessary so a bit of a hidden gem. Great ambience, hostess shared with us history of building, what Mr. Coppola uses the building for etc. we thought it may be a fancier place, but was very relaxed and comfortable, would recommend for a date night to share a pizza and try the Coppola flight of wines.

Thank newmama

Stumbled on this green building by chance looking for lunch. As it turned out, it is very closely associated with Francis Ford Coppola, and has plenty of his paraphernalia on the walls. With of without Coppola, the ambience of the place is great. It's very cozy, and the food is fine. Worth a visit.

I was brought here by a friend who knew I loved movies, she figured I'd find it enjoyable and boy did I ever. It was incredibly cute inside with tons of photographs and wine bottles to look at and admire. There was a cabinet with some awards too, that were nice to look at. The food was just as great. I had the Pizza Sofia, and it was delicious. The pizza crust is very thin and has great flavor. They were generous with the toppings and there was plenty of freshly shaved Parmesan on top. It wasn't crowded at all, and it was lovely to sit in there and soak it all in.

Loved this Restaurant, even though I'm sure it's sometimes full of film buffs it still maintains the feel of a neighbourhood restaurant, without any pretentions it pulls off a relaxed feel of an established bistro/brasserie that could be anywhere in Paris or Rome.
The food was simply prepared, the pasta perfectly cooked and the sauce rich and tasty and served piping hot. I did try more than one glass of Mr Coppola's wine which as someone who usually turns their nose up at anything that doesn't come from Bordeaux was amazed at the quality and the Merlot perfectly complemented the food. It's very easy to be negative about restaurants and very few are perfect but when the style, food and wine are effortless the results are always good.
I'll be back in SF very soon and will definitely visiting again, and again, and again.

Had a very nice dinner tonight at Francis Ford Copola's Cafe Zeotrope. Been on vacation for 2 weeks and my wife just wanted some red sauce Italian. This was perfect! A little cafe in a great historic building. Split a Caesar salad and a bottle of Copola's Pino Grigio then my wife had spaghetti and meat balls and I had spaghetti carbonara. Both were very good. Split a Tiramisu for dessert and each had a capicino and an amaretto. Bill was just over $100 and we were there about an hour and a half. Not an opulent place but a good meal!
