This is an well-run, exceptionally nice bed and breakfast. Our room was beautifully furnished, clean and quiet. The inn keepers were friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed spending time with them and they were never intrusive. The food was excellent. They helped us find out-of-the-way places in the area and recommended excellent restaurants. Both my husband and I want to go back. We would definitely stay here if we are anywhere close to the area. A truly lovely experience.

We loved the place as soon as we saw it after parking our car in the designated area; the feeling and care was an immediate and positive reaction. JoAnne was there to greet us and show us to our wonderful General's Quarters; our home for the next 3 days/nights. The private house is special; clean, bright, comfortable and well-equipped. JoAnne is a treasure trove of information on the area and we listened to her very carefully. She recommended excellent places to visit other than the ones that we already had known about and in which to eat as well. Other than her marvelous kitchen, we thoroughly enjoyed the Antietem Cafe in Sharpsburg for dinner and Nutter's for ice cream that Paul had recommended. They also put us in touch with Bob Murphy for private touring of Antietam and Gettysburg and he was 5* too. We have already told others about this little gem in Sharpsburg, Md. ***** on zucchini bread too!

My husband and I spent two nights here for our anniversary. This Inn was perfect! We stayed in the General's Quarter's which was absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. We spent a day biking down to Harpers Ferry and back via the C & O Canal Towpath which was an awesome trip. Antietam National Battlefield and Cemetery is also nearby and is a place that everyone should see. There are no words to describe it. There is so much to do in this area. Joanne is the sweetest and makes the most delicious breakfasts. We did not need to eat again until dinner! The coffee was the best we've ever had. We found this to be a great place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. We will definitely stay here again!

My husband and I were looking for a peaceful weekend away for our 5th anniversary - our first time going away by ourselves without our toddler. I found this B&B online and it turned out to be even better than we expected! The house and grounds are gorgeous and our room (Antietam) was very large and beautiful. The bathroom was small, but it still had everything we needed, so that was okay.

We absolutely loved the small historic town and being able to walk just down the street for dinner and ice cream.

We've stayed at several B&Bs and were quite pleased with some bonuses that this one offered: free water bottles and canned soft drinks are always available in a small refrigerator, homemade cookies are waiting on a covered platter in the dining room, umbrellas are in the room for your use (you have to walk outside to get to the dining room), and there is a small library of Civil War movies in the room for you to watch, including "Glory Days," "Gods and Generals," and even the introduction video that the Battle of Antietam park shows just once a day.

We loved this B&B and are definitely recommending it to others!

Joanne and Paul treated us better than family. We stayed two nights while visiting Harpers Ferry and Antietam. The stay couldn't have been better. Printed out directions to locations we wished to visit, helped us with finding great dining in the area. Best of all was Joanne's breakfast, didn't eat lunch either day, fabulous doesn't cover what she does with the morning meal. If you are visiting the Battlefield this is a great place to set up camp. Enjoy.

We stayed at this B&B for 3 nights from 5th June. What an absolutely wonderful experience. Joanne and Paul would have to be two of the nicest people and Joanne's breakfasts are something else. Our room was the Clara Barton and it was very comfortable. It was lovely to be staying in a home environment and mixing with other guests. There was no problem having a drink outside at night and wine glasses were even supplied. They have a refrigerator with sodas and water which guests can avail themselves of and we did as it was extremely hot. We did buy some replacement sodas and water before we left. It was not asked for but we thought it would be a nice thing to do as they had been so helpful. Joanne arranged for us to have a private tour of the battlefield and suggested where we should go for dinner and where we should not (tavern next door). In all a very charming experience and I would go back again and again (if it wasn't so far away).

If you are going to Antietam and are looking for a B & B that is warm, friendly and just all around great Jacob Rohrbach Inn is the place to stay. You are about two miles from Antietam Battlefield and Visitors Center. While you're here ask the owner, Joanne, for her map to surrounding Harpers Ferry and Shepardstown. The drive is absolutely beautiful and these two small towns are delightful!
The Inn owners are so nice you'll feel like family. The rooms are super clean and beautiful. Joannes' breakfast is not to be missed! I was full until dinner.
The owners are extremely knowledgeable about the area. They have owned the inn for ten years. Joanne knows everything about the area and its attractions.
When you stay @ Jacob Rohrbach tell Joanne I said 'Hi' !
