Rarely do restaurant improve over time. This place is remarkably fresh, staff attentive and the chefs ever pressing with new tastes...... 5 Star 3 years ago and 7 stars now in a 5 Star scoring system . If you are within 100 miles and do not stop at Wild Rice, possibly the biggest mistake of your life if your a "foodie"! What a great set of building with vast glass overlooking Lake Superior...
Not to be missed, but check their website for open days/hours as it can be seasonal.....

We come here every year for my birthday because this place is my favorite! The food here is second to none --- always fresh, always made to order. We love to see "The Queen" when we visit, which usually always happens since we come early in the summer, but it it just a breath of fresh air all the way around. I am not a city girl, and this is not in the city, but you get city food and city service with Lake Superior views. If you want to impress a date, make a reservation and experience this restaurant. They even have outdoor fireplaces for you to sit while you wait!!! They also have a huge parking lot so there's no problem parking your car -- city in the country. And did I mention the wine list???? The wine is, literally, stacked to the ceiling. Heaven in a hidden paradise is what you'll find here.

A somewhat upscale place to eat, but I feel a bit over priced. The art within the restaurant and outside was very interesting. Great martinies.

My husband and our two little boys always take a trip to Bayfield and have seen the sign for this restaurant many times. We finally visited and were glad we did. The food is beyond delicious, the wait staff were all friendly and welcoming to two little boys, made sure that they had something available they could eat. Even brought out complimentary appetizers that they were testing a recipe out on. So kind, warm, inviting. We are definitely going back there this summer. Wonderful views too!

When we planned our getaway to Bayfield, we knew we wanted to visit Wild Rice and we were not disappointed! It is a little pricy, but not to be missed! After we parked & before we even entered the restaurant we were taken by how gorgeous it is! It has a beautiful wood walkway that leads to the main entrance and is surrounded by woods and has many windows and high ceilings. We were warmly greeted and seated at a side table with a nice view of the woods. I don't think there is a bad table in the restaurant though as there are so many windows.

The food was delicious & very well prepared for all courses. We had the Applewood Smoked Tuna and Creamy Wild Rice Soup for the first course, Alaskan Salmon and Bison Tenderloin for the main, and shared the Molten Chocolate Cake, which was AMAZING! The wine list is extensive and the wine waiter is very knowledgeable & helpful. We've been to restaurants where the wine waiter tries to push only the more expensive wines, but this was not the case here.

The service was warm and friendly and we would highly recommend! We certainly will visit again the next time we are in Bayfield!
