“It's Not Kansas Toto”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2013

My wife and I had an excellent trip with Captain Jim at the helm, for our sea cave trip. Coming to Lake Superior from Kansas made you think you were sailing on the ocean. As Wisconsonites we had never been to Lake Superior before, and we are glad we made the trip. The only other couple onboard turned out to be from Kansas too. Who would have thought you would go that far north only to bump into people from the same area. If you get a chance, take the sea cave trip. The caves are interesting and the local eagles provided a wonderful display. The trip was totally relaxing. It was a great time. We finished the trip with dinner in Cornacopia, at the Village Inn. It made it a perfect day and one to remember.

“Good option for young children”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2013

My husband and I took our 3 kids; ages 6,5, & 3 on the sea caves tour. It was a little more expensive than we anticipated but we really wanted to be able to go into the cave areas. You sail out to the caves and then get into a small dingy to go into the smaller spaces. It's gorgeous. We did the 10-2 tour. Pack a lunch ( and maybe an extra for your captain!) they provide soda. There are lots of bugs, but hey....you ARE in northern Wisconsin. When are kids are older, we will kayak but at this age, it was a very good option. Our captain was Todd and he was very nice to us and patient with our children...who were kind of crazy.

“Fabulous sailing experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 August 2012

We loved the couple of hours we spent with Jen. She is great with kids, even though my 7 year old is super challenging. She let the older kids sail for awhile. We loved the boat and the views of the islands. Great family excursion!

“Relaxing afternoon of sailing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 August 2012

We took a sailing cruise out of Cornucopia on a Tuesday to go and see the sea caves. It was a little windy out so we did have to motor over but were able to sail our way back which was awesome! We were not able to enter the sea caves due to the waves but had plenty of opportunity to take pictures. There were 6 of us on board and we had a good time getting to know each other and our captain. If you want to go out and get on the lake, this is the way to do it.

“Nothing Short of a 6 star!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2012

We made reservations ahead of time and went out at 3:00pm until 7:00. Loved the evening cruise to the sea caves. In the afternoon the sun is on the caves and they actually change colors. It takes 1 hour to get out there and back. It was so calm that sailing was out of the question most of the time but we towed a small dingy (row boat) for 2 and each couple (3 on board) got to take it into the caves. It was the most wonderful experience I have had in a very long time. It was so peaceful with only running into some kayakers. You can not see them from land. One of the guys in our group went swimming for about 40 minutes as the water was at 70 degrees. The sun did not totally set but the sun reflections on the water on it's way was some beautiful shots.

Another highlight is on our way back we spotted a bald eagle sitting at the top of a tree. Our lovely Captain Beth turned the boat around and we went very close for some wonderful photos.

The experience just kept going and going and going. If we ever come this way again this would be on the agenda no doubt. I give not only Dreamcatcher Sailing a 6 star but also Captain Beth. What a wonderful day it was.

Also it's really neat to help out with steering the boat as they get the sails out and wear some sturdy shoes, bring a long lens for spottings, I did bring out my nice camera but left the case in the car with my close up lens. :( Also I would bring my binoculars next time. It's OK to bring a bag with you. It gets cold sometimes as the sun starts to go down so don't forget a jacket. Also you can change into your swim suit on the boat if you wish. What a wonderful experience!

Dreamcatcher Sailing, you ARE the best! What a lovely day!!

Hello metaksams,
Thank you for your lovely review. It sounds like you had a beautiful evening to visit the mainland sea caves! Not much wind but what's good for sailing isn't always good for getting into the caves; glad you got a bit of both. Thanks for sailing with us on your travels and enjoy the rest of your summer!
