My wife and I spent a lovely night at the Jackson Rose B&B. Phil and Deb, the innkeepers, could not have been more friendly and accommodating. We were unable to stay in the room that Stonewall Jackson stayed in but, instead, stayed in the Linden room (a Linden tree is outside). The room is large and lovely with period pieces throughout. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom large and very clean. When we arrived Deb showed us around, gave us a little history of the house, answered any questions we had and asked us what time we wanted breakfast. The dining room was beautiful and breakfast was special. We were served fresh berries, homemade warm cherry muffins, homemade warm biscuits, quiche, juice and coffee, all of which were expertly prepared. I highly recommend making the Jackson Rose House the first choice for accommodations when visiting Harpers Ferry.

I spent a week in T ^ room on the top floor. The room was lovely, with plenty of space to spread out, watch TV and do work. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. Although the bathroom is small and a bit dated, there were plenty of big fluffy towels. The entire B and B was exceptionally clean and comfortable with to sitting rooms exclusively and a nice collection of videos to watch in one of the sitting rooms. There is also a small refrigerator text guests can use. I looked into one of the other guestrooms – the Linden room – which is grander and has a larger and nicer bathroom.

I spent my time hiking and exploring the HarpersFerry neighborhood. I didn't have a car, but I was able to take the local bus to Charles Town, which is of historical interest.

From DC, you can get to HarpersFerry by Amtrak or MARC train as well as by. car. My hosts were lovely and even provided transportation to and from the train station.

What makes a stay at the Jackson Rose B&B is the personal touch from Deb and Phil. The bedrooms, bathrooms etc are very comfortable but it is their attention to detail that really makes their hues such a delight to stay in.
If you are looking for a B&B in Harpers Ferry then start here - nothing could be better.

Room Tip: All great.Top floor is best suited for families with 2 children

This was the fifth night of our tour of American Civil War battle sites and this room was very special! What could be better that Stonewall Jackson's own room in a house used by him as his headquarters in 1861? Our welcome from Deb and Phil was warm and we were made to feel completely at home. The breakfast was delicious. Another top billing from us! Harper's Ferry was a delightful town to visit and we even crossed the bridge to experience the Applachian Trail. Thank you!

Room Tip: History buffs have to stay in the Jackson Rose Room, but there is no need to copy Stonewall's le...

This bed and breakfast is beautifully decorated and very well maintained. The hospitality, breakfast and other treats are superb and the location, within walking distance from historic Harpers Ferry is very convenient. Nice and cozy, a short drive from DC, definitely worth a weekend trip.

Charming, historic mansion with comfortable rooms and common areas located conveniently near old town Harpers Ferry.

Deb and Phil were friendly, hospitable, and made many efforts to make us feel warm and welcome, from the open use of their movie collection to the offerings of cider and cookies in the afternoon. The breakfasts were plentiful and deliciously homemade, better than we have had in many restaurants. Deb and Phil's big dog Roy was also happy to have us.

The whole experience was lovely and we absolutely recommend the Jackson Rose for anyone stopping through town.

I may have found the perfect option for stress-free travel to DC. I booked my first stay based on other reviews and was happy to find everything precisely as perfect as promised. The train station is less than five minutes away, and the 6:50 train gets you to DC in time for 9:00 meetings--without navigating beltway traffic. I've stayed upstairs and it's quiet and comfortable. I'm sure I'll be back.
