Ok place for a meal. Food better than service or air conditioning. Waiter tried hard but kitchen overwhelmed. Real iced tea was good. Lunch, when it came was tasty.

If you want to order a burger at Coach House, you have a choice of well done or well done. There are no other options. The burgers are rather small despite their the $10.99 price. A small portion of cole slaw and stale potato chips are on the side. Friendly service could not compensate for an otherwise unsatisfactory lunch-time experience.

It was hot and a little rainy. They were slammed with a huge table of Appalachian Trail hikers (like 14?) and were going up and down stone stairs in a drizzle while the diners got cozy under table umbrellas. The women working this place were gracious and patient under the most trying circumstances.

Oh, and the food? Very good! I was expecting bland, uninspired bar food but we got well-seasoned, thoughtfully prepared meals. If you eat outside make a point to take a peek at the inside dining room, Like most buildings in this town it's really old!

We stopped for lunch after while touring Harpers Ferry. Sat outside. Service was fair, waiter was not attentive. For example he brought our drinks, took our menus then walked off and never offered to take our food order. He eventually wandered back and took our order, but later in our meal when we asked for an additional beer, we never received it. Tuna sandwich was not all white tuna- ick! But the turkey panini was good? Limited options and tourism allow the mediocre service.

A group of about 8 of us stopped here after hiking and walking around the Harper's Ferry area. The outdoor seating looked great, but we opted to eat in. The building is original and you can see it in the exposed stone walls around the restaurant, especially on the lower level.

We may have gotten the same server I read about in a previous review. There was a touch of attitude in her service. It created a minor awkward moment during the ordering process, but we didn't see it again. Other servers seemed friendly and responsive from what I could tell. I wouldn't hesitate to return because of it.

Everyone ordered all kinds of items off the menu and everyone seemed happy with their orders. The quality of the food was very good and portion sizes were appropriate.

Price was a little above what I expected, though for the quality, nature of the restaurant and it being in a touristy area, it is reasonable and understandable. This wouldn't deter me from going back either.

A good stop that I would recommend to anyone considering this restaurant.
