Chose this because, of the two motels in town, it had the better rating. Never stayed at a Super8 before, and the worn, unclean feel of the whole establishment may be typical of the chain. The "Continental Breakfast" featured cereal and white bread; perhaps they had another continent in mind.
Could go on, but the conclusion for us is that the cheaper price and closeness to the museums was more than outweighed by the shortfall in comfort and cleanliness. Building is badly in need of a modernization and rehabilitation.
FYI: Lynchburg is only 20 miles or so away, with more expensive, of course, quality motels. If we were planning to stay more than two nights we would have packed up and move to something there. If we ever return to the area, we will definitely find something other the not-so-Super8!More
