“Our annual Moab accommodation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 May 2014

We've been making the trek to Moab for a spring visit and staying at Moab Springs Ranch for about 8 years. These units at the front #'s 1 - 6 are the first condos built on the site. The oldest building is 100 years older though! We love how they open onto a green space which is great for a quiet morning coffee, a relaxing post ride cocktail or a BBQ. Great for kids. We share it with a couple of friends now that our kids are older and attend University. Each room has a full bathroom and the living area is spacious. Bedrooms upstairs and living area is down. Bike garage is a great idea.
Close enough to town that you can ride in for dinner or shopping. Good value when you compare to hotel accommodation and use the kitchen instead of eating out. These front units get highway noise. We stayed in a smaller one bedroom/loft this year - none of these units were available - at the back of the property and it was much quieter, but we missed the space.

We loved this place and the location! It was just far enough out of downtown Moab to be quiet & peaceful and close enough to go in for dinner or supplies. Downtown Moab is pretty loud and bustling so we were very glad we didn't book a hotel in town! The resort is very close to Arches and within 30 miles of Canyon Lands. We stayed in unit 19 which was a 1 bedroom plus loft unit. The bedroom had a king bed and then a full bath for the unit to share and a 1/2 bathroom in the entryway. There is a full kitchen, washer/dryer, dishwasher and car port. Our 2 children loved the loft for their bedroom but this would only be appropriate for older kids (ours were 9 & 12) as the ladder to the loft is big and tall which is why my kids loved it! The pool was warm and fun for us to use after our days exploring Moab & the area. Plus the park with the hammocks and natural spring was relaxing & had very pretty views & a nice green oasisi. Jenn - the property manager - was very nice as well. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it!

Stayed in Unit 3. Outside storage unit with roll down door. Split level floor plan. Entry is a landing between stairs going up to bedrooms, and stairs going down to living area. Glass doors and tall windows open onto a patio off the lawn. Our party of five was quite comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked aside from food, although there were items left by past tenants. We all enjoyed our stay. Although the rate was a bit high everyone was satisfied because it was so nice.

The location is fantastic - away from the relative buzz of "downtown" Moab but close enough to visit for the restaurants, groceries, and shopping. Service was fantastic - issues were fixed almost immediately even though reported past the office closing time. The apartment is almost a house - nice two level layout in one half of a building.

We stayed one night in unit 17B, a studio unit:

http://moabspringsranch.com/?page_id=475

The pics on the website give a good view of the room, though I included pics of the kitchen/TV area and large walk-in closet. We absolutely loved our stay here. The property is located at the beginning of the 191 strip into Moab, which sets it just a few minutes away from all the commercial stuff down the road as well as from the entrance to Arches National Park. It's about a mile in one direction to the park and about a mile in the other to downtown Moab. Easy access to everything, but far enough away to avoid the noise. In fact, when I went out to our car after the sun had set, I could clearly see stars above and heard no traffic noise. The property itself is well maintained and is basically a condo property with a historic ranch house as the office. We arrived after the normal check-in time and found our reservation instructions in an envelope taped to the door, our unit unlocked with keys inside. Easy.

The room was nicely decorated with a microwave, mini-fridge, large TV, plates and utensils, large bathroom, large walk-in closet, sitting area and a wonderfully soft, large, extremely comfortable bed with tons of pillows. That bed was by far the best bed of the 5 we slept in during our week in Utah and was possibly the first time I have not longed for my own bed while on vacation. It was sublime.

WiFi was available and very fast. Helpful instruction manual in our room that discussed the property history, things to do in the area and even included a discount card for the local grocery store. Our unit did not have pool or hot tub access and the patio was small, facing a wooden gate but that was ok with us as we spent most of the day in Arches National Park and didn't have time to check out the grounds anyway. What we did see was clean, well maintained and spacious.

Only two gripes, one of which is quite minor:our unit didn't have covered parking, but instead a space in a gravel area next to the covered parking. Not a huge deal unless it rains...which it did as we were leaving. But no one was parked in the covered area for our section of the building so we just pulled into it to load our car. The other gripe, which could potentially be an issue for those staying longer than one night, is that, at least in our unit, the temp was controlled by the upstairs unit. We had no way to adjust the temperature, though there is a heater in the room as well as a desk fan. If you need the temp adjusted you have to call the office but if they're not open when you want the temp changed, you're SOL. It was cold when we got into the room, so we turned on the heat, then switched tracks and turned on the fan while we were sleeping. It wound up being fine, but if we were staying longer I could see that becoming annoying really quickly.

The room was stocked with extra towels, blankets and pillows and it really felt like we were staying in a friend's guest room rather than a hotel/motel/resort. It had a homey, comfortable feeling and we loved everything about it. We slept soundly, we were close to everything, and we had all the comforts of home, including an awesome bed. Highly recommend this place over some of the overpriced B&B's and hotels in Moab that are smack-dab in the center of the commercial district and so much traffic and tourist noise.

Beautiful condo very close to everything in Moab. You can walk to the ZipLine center, and easily get to restaurants and other amenities in city (if you can call Moab a city). It is very close to Arches National Park and the Colorado River as well. The furnishings are beautiful, and the beds are very comfortable. We loved the Oasis and the small pool and wish we had more time to spend there. It also had a two car garage. From what I saw, this was one of the nicest places to stay in Moab. There are only two downsides: a) we couldn't get any WIFI connection in this unit, which really is a have-to-have nowdays for rentals; and b) you need to walk up a flight of stairs to get to the 2nd floor bedrooms and then another flight to get to the living room/kitchen/master bedroom. So this is not a good option if you have difficulties with stairs.

we are on an 11 day sprint seeing as many national parks in the AZ, UT area as possible. we rented a condo here for 4 days, and it is great place for slowing down, doing local activities etc. we r in unit 4 (in fact am writing this from the balcony) which is clean, decorated well, fresh - all things you want in a condo rental. it is 2 -story and we have a balcony on the 2nd floor, and a patio on the 1st. we have 2 teens - and they shared a room with double bed (may be a queen?) and bunk beds. we have made dinners here / grilled on the patio. and chilled at the pool. there are hammocks near the spring - have not tried those yet. easy access to Arches Ntl Park and 1 entrance of Canyonlands. a friend was here in the spring and recommended it. it is a bit more expensive that the local hotels, but when you factor in going to the gro, and buying breakfast food and dinner food - you make out better than going to restos for all your meals. i'd recommend to friends in a heartbeat.
