“Moab Valley RV Campground- great for star gazing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2014 via mobile

We stayed two nights in Moab, while I agree that the sites are very close quarters and there is very little privacy, but of what looks to be the other RV options, this would be the one I would choose again. The pool was great, the facilities were very nice and updated, the connections were conveniently located to the RV. The park was very clean and well-maintained and the people there were all very nice and friendly. We spent a day in Zion and hiked to delicate arch which was awesome but you need a lot of water, twice as much is you think you need. Spray bottle is very helpful. We also did the half day white-water rafting & used Tag-a-long company. I have a seven-year-old, 10-year-old and 12-year-old and all which easily were able to do the rapids!! We wishes we would have done full day!! The cool water helps to keep it nice and refreshing on the raft...no paddling required.

Perhaps we were unlucky, but despite reading great reviews about this place, we felt very uncomfortable during our week-long stay. Our rig was facing into the park and our immediate neighbors faced the other way. This meant our door and theirs opened onto the same patch of land between each other, and our windows looked out straight into theirs.

They'd arrived before us and we wondered how many were in their party as there were about 12 fold-up chairs set out.

We went out to explore, and when we returned they'd erected a massive canopy which was inches away from our windows. We felt our space was totally invaded.

We were friendly with them, and didn't complain as we felt it wasn't their fault the layout was as such. There must have been a few RVs in their group as there was always a crowd from early morning breakfast through to late evening drinks.

Anyhow, regardless of what our neighbours did, we just felt uncomfortable, even after they left and new people arrived. The layout is invasive and has zero privacy. After enjoying a fabulously large and private site in Breckenridge, CO, this felt quite the opposite.

However, the pool and hot tub were nice, and the location was fabulous. We'd go there again if we were ever lucky enough to revisited Arches NP, but we'd upgrade to the premium sites on the end.

Thank you for your review. Our resort was designed with the comfort of guests and large groups in mind but we are sorry to hear that the space you stayed in was not to your satisfaction. We have two large pavilions that accommodate large groups and these were both booked during your visit which may have accounted for a larger party occupying the space next to you. We hope that you’ll be back to stay in one of our premium spaces to utilize the amenities and location you enjoyed while occupying a space that will better meet your needs.

We camped here June 10, 11 & 12 - we had no reservations and arrived at almost 8 in the evening. The only staff member on site then, Harlan, directed us to one of the last tent camping spots left, and apologized profusely that there were no more tent camping sites with a canvas cover on them. When I came in the next morning, the staff weren't irate at all that we'd camped one night and hadn't paid yet. If you are going to stay here, try to call as far in advance as possible - for non-RV folks, they have uncovered tent camping, covered tent camping, cabins with just beds, and cottages with full amenities - lots of options, but they disappear FAST. Some campers can be noisy after hours - complain the next day, and the staff will give them a talking to (unlike many other camp sites, where they don't care). I would have given this place a good review just for being so accommodating to us arriving so late, for clean bathrooms, for being friendly - but they fully earned the best review possible because I had a motorcycle accident whilst out and about, and they went WAY above and beyond the call of duty to help us out: they found us an affordable, clean hotel to stay in for the two nights after we would have to leave the resort (the resort was fully booked), one staff member INSISTED on driving my husband to the entrance of Canyonlands so he could more easily hitch a ride to where he'd parked my motorcycle, another staff member helped my husband get necessary tools and then insisted I spend the day after my accident sitting in the air-conditioned office next to the laundry room, watching TV while my husband dealt with my bike and what not. While sitting there all day, I watched the staff deal with every kind of customer possible: chatty ones, complaining ones, unhappy ones, ones that had been complained about, confused ones, needy ones, etc., and they dealt with each with respect and patience. I was floored by how they handled the craziness, the demands, the chaos. And when it came time for us to try to get me and two motorcycles to our hotel, some random other guest over heard us and volunteered to drive me to the hotel, with my husband following on his motorcycle, then drive him back to the campground to take mine. These people love their jobs and want guests to have a great time - I can't say enough great things about them.

This is our second time staying here. Both times we rented a cabin "with bathroom"! It is small but has all you need including a small refrigerator, microwave and A/C. The prices are very good! We bring our own food and make all our own meals! It is located on the north side of Moab. The park is quiet and very clean! Nice pool and spa. We do not have dogs but they do have a dog run area! It is a short drive to Arches National Park. I would like to see more trees around the cabins for shade or maybe an umbrella to put up over the table when it is not windy! Everyone in the office are very friendly!!! Our only complaint is that the Internet is extremely slow and sometimes impossible to get on!

Room Tip: They have cabins with and without bathrooms! So make sure you choose the right one for you! Do you...

Got there and someone parked car blocking part of our RV spot, called office but they couldn't find owner so we manipulated our 33' to get it in after about 30 minutes. Went to use laundry and 3 out of 6 machines were broke all four days we were there. People set up tents on RV site and people slept on cots outside of rigs. No problem for me but against the rules. Talked to employees and they said under new ownership and they now cared about profit instead of comfort. Sprinklers came on 2 of the 4 days and flooded under rigs causing a muddy mess. We will find another park next time. Moab hiking and River Cruise were fantastic.

We stayed here for two nights and absolutely loved the location and views next to the river. The facilities were nice and the pool/hot tub and chess a nice extra amenity. The staff accommodated us well as we arrived really late by leaving info on where to set up in the mail box. Our only complaint was there was an occasional sewage smell and the lack of shade in areas of the park, otherwise a great place! Will definitely come back.

Room Tip: Make sure when visiting in peak season you reserve a spot.

We decided to stay in one of the cabins at Moab Valley RV. It was nice, clean and small. The park staff was very friendly and were very approachable, especially with providing information about local attractions and restaurants. The cabin was air conditioned, which was a nice amenity, and was a nice place to stay for the five nights we were in Moab. The only complaints is that the shower is a bit small and no one ever picks up the phone. As a female who is 5'4", I can tell you when I hit my head on the shower head, it is too low! :) Also, do not try to call thinking someone will answer the phone. Just leave a message and they will call you back. We tried calling several times trying to reach someone directly and never got a response. When we left a voicemail, we got a call within the next day or two. Other than that, we loved our stay here, but will likely stay at a hotel next time since we have our mountain bikes with us and cannot bring them in the cabin. We would still recommend this to other though!
