“About 15 min from town but worth the location. Best part of moab!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2014 via mobile

LOVED this place. We stayed in a river 2 room queen. Had separate rooms each with a queen bed with a jack and Jill bathroom between them. Came with a kitchen and tv sitting room with a pop out queen bed and it's own large outdoor portch overlooking the Colorado river. Loved hearing the river rushing by. Room was clean, nice decor, very comfortable for me, my husband, and our 8 and 11 yr olds. Beautiful surrounding scenery and horses running wildly in the pasture on the property outside our room (which my daughter loved to feed in the morning.) the pool was very clean and nice with great views all around. The restaurant was delicious (not the best service though). Great views from the restaurant. We went river rafting with moab adventure company and they picked us up right at the hotel lobby which was very convienent! Didn't mind at all that it was about 10-15 min outside of town...I still think it was the best choice! We will be back!

Every time we visit Moab, we make sure we get out to Red Cliffs. We have never stayed in the hotel, but we are very fond of their Sunday brunch and their "Cowboy Lunch", which is served at the lower dining area next to the river (often a lunch spot for the river rafters). The food is always delicious, the service is always outstanding, and it's impossible to find a better view.

The Cowboy Lunch is one of our favorite things to do, but on our last trip we were a little disappointed to learn that the menu had changed. The old lunch menu included hamburgers, hot dogs, and on occasion, a chicken dish. Now the menu only consists of sloppy joes/pulled pork sandwiches. Given the menu change, we will no longer recommend it as a great lunch place.

We had one of the rooms by the river for a few nights. They have two bedrooms, bathroom and a kitchen/dining area. The view is fab. The beds are comfortable with air con in every room, a desk, kitchenette, table and sofa. The rooms are all in wood, with a terrace in the river, absolutely lovely. The furniture is a bit dated but well clean and functional.
Breakfast is excellent value at 10$ each, including a selection of hot dishes and continental buffet.
Dinner was ok, food and wine not exceptional so we ate in town the other nights (great sushi place).
Laundry room works well (5$ all in for a wash/dry/powder).
Gym has a few machines but no weights.
Pool is nice but we didn't go - more for kids I thought.
Service was excellent, everything was dealt with professionally.
20 mins from town.
Would def go back.

We stayed here for 2 nights while we were visiting Moab. I have a 5 yo and a 15 yo and they both thought this was the best place we stayed as well. We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin (#574) on the river. Our unit was near the end of the row. The cabin was very clean. Each bedroom had a queen bed with the bathroom connecting between the 2 rooms. Living room area had a sofa bed, a small desk area and a kitchen table with 4 chairs. The porch ran the length of the cabin and had 2 lounge chairs and 2 sitting chairs. The view from the porch was amazing. We were about 40 yards from the creek which makes a turn through the canyon so you can see a large portion of the river. In front of the cabins is the meadow/pasture where the horses are turned out in the afternoon. That had to be the kids favorite part. We were never able to find a place that would allow a 5 yo to ride double. I knew she would be too young to ride by herself. So to be able to go out and pet the horses was huge to her. My husband somehow knew the "secret" call to get them to come over. (This was after the kids and I had tried calling them for 10 min with no luck). They were very friendly and were happy to be loved on (especially when we brought apples the next day!). The lobby/restaurant was within walking distance from our unit, but we found it was way too dusty whenever a car drove by, so we chose to drive up to the lobby area when we ate. The staff at the registration desk was very friendly and very helpful. No complaints there. Our waitress/server at dinner, not so much. It started out great. . .we had a table with a wonderful view. But the waitress had an attitude a mile wide and really ruined the experience. I asked if they had any white zinfandel (I know wine snobs look down on it!) and she asked if I had not had a chance to look at the wine menu. Well, actually, no I had not. I was trying to get my 5 yo situated and we had just cleaned up a glass of water that had gotten knocked over by the host as he had sat us at the table. Maybe I should have responded with a question of did she not have a chance to look over the wine menu and know what was on it. It just went downhill from there. She forgot to ever bring out our salads and when my husband asked about it, she seemed put out and they were brought a few minutes before the steaks. The steaks were OK. Quite honestly, I can't say they were any better than just the average restaurant. The mixed vegetables that were served with them were room temperature when they were brought out and were overcooked as well so they were very mushy. That would be the only negative that I could write about Red Cliffs. They are 14 miles out of town on a curvy road with an average speed of about 40-45 mph. We were not aware of any other restaurant choices in the area, so unless you are willing to drive back into town, the Lodge's restaurant is the only choice. We did eat there for breakfast one morning. Adults were about $10. My husband thought it was worth it. I didn't think it was any different than what we had eaten for free at Best Western. Eggs, sausage and potatoes and pancakes. Plus the usual assortment of cereals/yogurt/fruit. I will say the breakfast staff was very friendly and helpful. We grabbed one of their sack lunches (about $10) which came with a croissant sandwich (condiments all packed separately which was great for my picky 15 yo!), chips, cookie and a piece of fruit and a canned drink, I thought it was a great value and we were able to grab it and go after our raft trip and on our way to explore Arches National Park. The pool area was very nice and clean. The cabins even provided 2 robes in each room and 2 beach towels. Part of me says maybe it would be best enjoyed as a couple. We weren't able to enjoy the winery. I'm sure drinks on the patio outside of the restaurant would be a wonderful way to wind down after the day. But I wouldn't give up the memories of my kids loving on the horses and saying, "Mom, this is AWESOME!"

This was our first stay at Red Cliffs Lodge. We have been to the area may times but finally found this gem of a lodge amongst the beauty of the Utah parks. We stayed in the cabins and they were fabulous. Parking right at your cabin and the river and cliff backdrops right off the deck. Restaurant right there with many amenities.

My family recently spent three nights at Red Cliffs Lodge. We stayed in one of the cabins right on the Colorado River. It was so relaxing sitting on the porch while listening to the river flow quickly by! The food was very good -- especially the breakfast buffet! The staff was very friendly and helpful. After hiking to Delicate Arch and Landscape Arch, it was nice to return to our roomy cabin. You can even have the lodge prepare a lunch for you to take on the go! I would highly recommend Red Cliffs Lodge as your base to visit the national parks or to just enjoy the canyons and trails around the lodge!

Room Tip: Highly recommend the cabins on the River!

A beautiful setting in a canyon on the banks of the Colorado River. While the rooms need updating, they are spacious (plus you won't be spending too much time in your room). The Restaurant in the main Lodge was slightly above average. Lots of movie and cowboy history in the area (with a cowboy movie museum), as well as a small local winery and opportunities for horseback riding, trail rides and river rafting. While we used it as a base to tour Arches and Canyonlands, this would be a great spot for families with kids. We were hoping that the town of Moab would have more to offer tourists, but other than a few good restaurants and shops, it is certainly not geared for tourists. We were glad we stayed and consider Red Cliffs Lodge one of the best options in the Moab area, but the area is not high on our list for return visits.
